Hi! I'm a teen trying to make a difference. Not only do i mail/ deliver to cancer patients but also if you have a life-threatening illness.

Hi, I'm Joy- I make blankets and care packages for kids and teens with cancer or chronic / life threatening diseases locally but I also ship packages! {non-profit} My name is Joy Marble and I make fleece blankets and care packages full of goodies for pediatric cancer patients at Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas but I also mail packages across the country if not local. I've been suffering with a

debilitating never-ending migraine (that means it's 24-7) for about 3 years now and also have been diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia among other chronic illnesses as well. Through my sickness I've gained a compassionate heart for these kids who go through so much more than I do and that's how I created Give Hugs. My purpose for making these blankets and care packages is to comfort the kids who undergo chemo, radiation, procedures, etc. but also give them fun things to do while enduring treatment. The blanket is the "hug" aspect.

Friends, I haven’t been on this page for a while as now that I’m a nurse I can’t share the patients I reach with Give Hugs but I wanted to share how you can help currently. I continue to work as an oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse but also as a caregiver. This past October, my niece was diagnosed with ALL (leukemia) and is being treated at Children’s Mercy. A big need I’ve found is CMH lacks in the snack department. They have some but not a big variety. It makes a bigger difference than you think and it’s one less thing patients and caregivers have to worry about packing before coming to clinic. I’d also love your support and prayers for my niece.
