𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴? 🧼🚗

Meteorologists say what happened is pretty simple — strong winds pulled dust and smoke from wildfires and dry conditions out over western Kansas and Oklahoma, then carried it up into the atmosphere and toward our region. As that mix fell with overnight rain, it left that dusty residue on cars, driveways and outdoor surfaces instead of the usual clean rinse.

It’s basically “dirty rain” — not mud blowing around here directly, but particles from farther west riding along with weather systems and coming down with precipitation.

So if your car looks like it needs a wash again, you’re definitely not alone! 🧽

With the snow hitting Kansas City, we’re all focused on slick roads, but your heart deserves just as much attention as your driveway. Did you know most snow-shoveling heart attacks happen within the first 15 minutes of activity?

Cold air constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure, making your heart work twice as hard. Before you grab the shovel, keep these life-saving tips in mind:

𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗨𝗽 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁: Do some light stretches before heading out and avoid eating a heavy meal right before shoveling.
𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵, 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁: Try to push the snow to the side instead of lifting. If you must lift, don’t hold your breath!
𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀: Don’t fall into the “just 5 more minutes” trap. Stop, breathe, and stay hydrated.
𝗗𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀: Keep your body temperature steady to avoid shocking your system.
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀: Chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or nausea are NOT things to "push through."
