starts with real relationships.
Today, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA, science, math, and social studies teachers from the Shawnee Mission School District connected with local business professionals to explore meaningful ways to bring career connections and community partnerships into their classrooms.
Together, they discussed how classroom learning connects to the real world and how students can better see the purpose behind what they're learning every day.
The feedback from teachers says it all:
"Best PD yet."
"This is the best and most useful district workshop I've been to in over 15 years."
"I wish the whole day could have been going around to the different professionals."
"Thank you for making this purposeful."
A huge thank you to the business leaders who shared their time, experiences, and expertise. When schools and the community work together, we're Building Tomorrow Together.
