A ministry of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas dispenses love and hope to our neighbors in need throughout our 21 county service area. We help with immediate survival

needs including food, clothing and shelter. More than that, we educate, give guidance and provide resources that will result in long-term change. All services provided are free and based on need — not religion, race or nationality.

This past Saturday our Snowflake Young Professionals group joined family volunteers to serve at Mobile Food Distribution.
The community has additional access to healthy perishable foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables and refrigerated items, through Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas’ Mobile Food Distribution.
With the assistance of volunteers and food supplied from Harvesters Food Bank, we are able to feed nearly 100 families and individuals every half hour at every single food distribution!

SNAP benefits can be used at places other than grocery stores. SNAP benefits can be used at farmers’ markets to purchase plants and seeds from farmers, allowing recipients to grow their own fruits and vegetables at home.

A big shout-out to the United Way of Leavenworth County! They went the extra mile for our Leavenworth Family Support Center and those we serve, building a new ramp to improve accessibility for our food pantry. They also trimmed the bushes to make visible our office sign from the street, and cut back the weeds around our A/C units to improve the air flow. We are so grateful for their generosity!

Recently, we hosted Divine Mercy's "Feet to the Street" summer service group at Hope Distribution Center, and a group of athletes from Catholic Challenge Sports served at the new TurnStyles Thrift Metcalf store.
