If you are around on Memorial Day, this is a great service activity to get back to the Kansas City area and those who have served. Please see below.

This Memorial Day, we are looking for members of scouting organizations to lay 441 wreaths at the 2026 Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25 – one for each of the 441 Kansas Citians who died in the Great War.

All scouting organizations (all affiliations and ages) are invited to register to participate in this civic event during the Museum and Memorial's Centennial year.

Our fellow scouter, Addison J Roberts, lost his battle with Huntington’s Disease and a traumatic brain injury on March 6, 2026, just a week after celebrating his 35th birthday. He was a member of Troop 122, reaching the level of Life Scout and was a proud member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Mr Robertson, Mr Sweeney and Mr Himmelberg recall Addy as being a bright light in our troop back in the day, and recall his strong bond with Kevin Sweeney.

We’re excited to announce our annual Bashaw Campout, happening April 10–12. ❤️

What to expect:

▶️Saturday activities will include fishing, potato guns, and possibly hatchets
▶️Saturday evening dinner will feature Jeff Allison’s famous BBQ
▶️Plenty of time to reconnect, share stories, and enjoy the outdoors
