Just My Type! 🎨✨

What happens when five talented artists each bring their own creative perspective to the art of typography? You get an exhibit that's anything but ordinary!

We celebrated the opening of “Just My Type: Typography as Art” at The Epsten Gallery at Village Shalom, with the featured artists in attendance!

Artist and volunteer curator Paul Tosh shared insights into the exhibit, highlighting how each artist approaches typography differently—transforming letters and words into unique works of art through everything from hand lettering and calligraphy to letterpress and digital design.

A wonderful evening celebrating creativity, artistic expression and the power of the written word!

The exhibit is open through December 3, and we invite you to stop by and experience it for yourself!

Some friendships truly stand the test of time! ❤️

Thursday, Village Shalom resident Tina Chapman reunited with a group of her high school sorority sisters from Paseo High School's Phi Delta Gamma sorority, Class of 1959–1960!

There were plenty of laughs, a few happy tears, lots of goodies, and countless memories shared as these longtime friends reminisced about their high school days and the many years since.

More than 65 years later, the friendships and special bonds they formed as teenagers are still going strong!

What a beautiful reminder that while the years may pass, true friendship never grows old. ❤️

What a great way to start the morning at Village Shalom! We had a wonderful turnout for our Chris Cakes Pancake Breakfast today, complete with delicious pancakes, flying flapjacks, and plenty of smiles!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us including, ITH Moving, to enjoy breakfast while supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer's! 💜

Know the signs. Act FAST. 🧠❤️

Village Shalom residents attended an important presentation today from Dr. Charles Weinstein, recently retired head of neurology at Saint Luke’s, about recognizing the signs of a stroke, treatment and prevention.

When it comes to stroke, time = brain. Knowing the warning signs and acting quickly can make a critical difference.

Remember BE FAST:
B– Balance: sudden loss of balance
E– Eyes: sudden vision changes
F– Face: one side drooping
A– Arms: weakness or numbness
S– Speech: slurred or difficult speech
T– Time: call 911 immediately

Residents took a fascinating journey through history with Lee Levin Presents: The Life and Tragic Death of Marie Antoinette.

Her life was far more complex than the story most of us learned. Who was the woman behind the crown? And by the standards of her time, did she really deserve such a ghastly demise?
