You are invited to attend the next National Joint Committee on LD (NJCLD) Symposium entitled, Language Assessment of Bilingual Children: Disentangling Difference and Disorder. This is the first of a 4-part series on supporting literacy development for English Learners. It will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 7:00PM – 8:30PM [EST]. Dr. Elizabeth Peña will review bilingual development and assessment with an emphasis on the role of language experience. She will review current approaches to determining language difference vs. language disorder in bilingual children. Although all of our NJCLD symposia are free, participants must register to attend.
