A fire takes everything. A hospital stay stretches from days into weeks. A loss comes that no one saw coming.

For 20 years, when a KW agent's world has stopped, this community has refused to stop with it. Every Hug and every grant HPIC has given was made possible by agents who chose to show up for each other, often without ever knowing whose life they were changing.

Twenty years of carrying each other through the hardest seasons. We're so grateful for every person who's been part of it, and we can't wait to see what the next 20 hold. ❤️

Most careers come with a safety net — sick leave, short-term disability, an emergency fund built into a paycheck. Real estate doesn't work that way. One accident, one diagnosis, one bad month can turn into a financial crisis fast.

That's exactly why Heartland Partners In Caring exists. We're a KC-based nonprofit built by and for the Keller Williams family — agents, staff, and their immediate family members — so that when life throws a curveball, there's somewhere to turn. One of our grant recipients put it simply: HPIC kept him from being financially wiped out after a motorcycle accident, and it's a fund he contributes to himself on every deal he closes.

If you or someone in your office is facing a financial emergency, you don't have to white-knuckle it alone. Visit with your market center leadership or your HPIC Ambassador about a grant application.

Heartland Partners in Caring (HPIC) serves to provide immediate support for Keller Williams associates, their families and employees of participating Market Centers in the Greater Heartland Keller Williams Region. We step up when they experience hardship as a result of a sudden or unexpected emergency.

Judy Johns had heard from Doris Carlin about the impact of the tornado and what their market center was doing to help the community. Doris was OP there. Judy came to HPIC and asked if we could help. We had previously helped people only in the KC area with personal grants. We immediately decided to wire $5,000 to the market center to disburse as they saw fit to help the affected agents and the community. It was our first Heartland region national disaster to offer assistance. Since that time we have given to help several communities where our Heartland region has been hit by disaster and agents were affected. We learned what a derecho was. We have helped purchase chain saws and mobilized our people. Watching this documentary really brought home how much help the community needed and you can be proud to have been a part of bringing relief.

Almost 14 years after the deadly EF5 tornado tore through Joplin, Missouri, Netflix released a documentary Wednesday highlighting the immense impact it had on the town and its residents. https://trib.al/iFLdGi0
