Share some love!

Last fall, a young man came to live at Teresa’s Place. Barely 18 years old and only a senior in high school, he was left to navigate the world alone as circumstances prevented him from remaining in his family home. Despite hearing from trusted adults that he would not graduate and should instead pursue a GED, this young man set his eyes on a goal and continued to move forward. Over the course of the year, he has attended his classes, completed required volunteer hours, and worked on his homework at the kitchen table of our youth emergency shelter. Even while encountering additional setbacks, he persevered, never losing sight of his goal: to receive his high school diploma. We are so happy to share that he completed his last class and will soon be walking the stage in a graduation ceremony with his classmates.

We want him to feel the love and support of an entire community behind him. We’re asking our supporters to help celebrate by mailing a card filled with encouragement, congratulations, and hope for the future to SAVE, Inc., Attn: Graduate, PO Box 45301, Kansas City, MO 64171.

Sometimes even a simple message can remind someone they are seen, valued, and believed in. 🎓

On May 6th, the Trump administration published its 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy. Signed. Public. Official policy.

It designates "violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist" as a domestic terrorism priority — alongside cartels and jihadist networks. It pledges to map these groups at home, identify their membership, and cripple them operationally.

This didn't begin on May 6th. In September 2025, Trump signed a presidential directive targeting the "enemy within." In December, a leaked Pam Bondi memo directed the FBI to build informant networks and pay cash bounties for tips on leaders of groups defined by "adherence to radical gender ideology." Most people never saw that memo. It wasn't meant to be public.

The May 6th document is the same framework — now published deliberately, for everyone to see. The shift isn't the language. The shift is that they stopped hiding it.

There is no mention of right-wing extremism anywhere in its 16 pages. The January 6th insurrection, for which every convicted participant was pardoned, does not appear.

I've spent a dozen years in LGBTQ+ advocacy communications. I got my transgender child out of the country because I could see where this was going.

This is where it was going.
