Great businesses have great stories—and BEMA members have a lot of them.

While the BEMA team was together in Kansas City this week, Rene, Wes and Ella had the opportunity to visit with David Shroeder, President & CEO of Great Western Manufacturing, in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Great Western has been manufacturing in Kansas since 1858, making it the oldest continually operating manufacturing firm in the state. For more than 165 years, the company has combined technical expertise and innovation to serve customers around the world with sifting and processing solutions.

And Great Western has been part of the BEMA community since 1999.

Visits like this are one of the best parts of our work—getting to know the people behind our member companies, learning about their businesses, and strengthening the relationships that make BEMA a community.

The best way to understand the baking industry? Get out and experience it.

While the BEMA team was together in Kansas City this week, Rene, Wes and Ella had the opportunity to visit John Friend, President, Farm to Market Bread Co. and get a firsthand look at one of KC's great bakeries.

BEMA represents the companies that build the equipment, technology, and solutions bakeries rely on every day. Spending time with bakers helps our team better understand their world and brings valuable perspective back to the members we serve.

We're grateful to Farm to Market for welcoming us into their bakery and sharing a little of what goes into making great bread in Kansas City.
