We are Metal Mustang Robotics, FRC Team 2410, from the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, Kansas. Metal Mustang Robotics competes in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition. In FRC, high schools nationwide build a robot in a 6-week time span for competition. Metal Mustang Robotics is dedicated to providing opportunities for high school stud

ents to explore applications of science and technology as well as achieve personal goals and aspirations.

To our team and all the robotics communities, it is with great sorrow that I share that Dan Ritter passed away on Wednesday. Dan was the original Metal Mustang, starting the team in 2007 after joining the faculty at Blue Valley North. He shared his passion for education with our team, and it made the team successful. He inspired his students, team mentors, parents and many in the FIRST community with his humor, commitment and kindness. We are all better off for having had the chance to know him.

Our last day of competition was full of excitement, anticipation, and thrill. We served as the fifth seed alliance captains and invited System Meltdown - Ray-Pec Robotics and the RoboLobos to join our alliance. We ended with a third place finish. We could not have been happier with how this weekend went! Peace out Green Country, we’ll see you next year!

We ended Day 2 ranked as the number 3 seed and finished with a record of 6-1. Triple balancing was the highlight of the night! ‘stangs are hot, let’s ride for Day 3!

Only smiles down in Green Country as we wrap up our day of practice matches. We spent some time modifying our bot, connecting with other teams, and getting hyped for tomorrow’s day of competition. We can’t wait for Friday!

Our drive team successfully arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They unloaded gear, watched sunsets, and shared lots of laughs. We cannot wait to watch competition and see all the incredible teams and robots. Get ready Tulsa, because 2410’s in town.

The Metal Mustangs had an incredible time at the Heartland Regional. We had the honor of serving as the 5th Alliance Seed Captain. Thank you to Park Hill South Robotics - FRC 5126 and Marceline Black Knight Robotics - FRC 4809 for joining us in competition. Although we didn’t win, we had a fantastic time and made some great memories.

2410 was all smiles for day 2. We had a fantastic day at competition, presented our Impact Award, and celebrated our mentors!! Can’t wait to see what Day 3 will hold!

That’s officially a wrap on Day 1 of the Heartland Regional. Although we encountered some difficulties, we were able to adapt and overcome. We put in some great work today and we can’t wait for Day 2!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our winter day camps! We had a fantastic time hosting them! Today we spent the day creating circuit bugs, binary bracelets, and safari lookout towers. We learned about circuits, electricity, binary code, and different types of structures.

That’s officially a wrap on our “Metal Mandalorian” day camp. We spent the day creating our own galaxies, lightsabers, and conducting our own “droid drop.” We concluded the day with an interactive robot demonstration. Students learned about galaxies, density, electricity, and forces. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait for tomorrow’s camp!

Need something fun and entertaining for the kiddos over Winter school break? Sign them up for our annual STEM camp!! We are offering 2 sessions, each with a different theme and different activities. The camp is all day and includes a pizza lunch!
All proceeds go directly to our team to help fund our 2023 Robotics Season!
