ACA Releases the 2026 Angel Funders Report — and the data tells a good story.

ACA's new 2026 Angel Funders Report shows angel investment rose 12% YoY — from $437M in 2024 to $491.3M in 2025 — as investors write bigger checks with more discipline and conviction.

The big themes shaping the market:
• Life sciences now drives nearly 47% of angel dollars (up from 31% in 2023)
• 2 in 3 angel groups made an AI investment this year
• Bigger checks, fewer deals, more selectivity
• Governance participation is declining as round sizes grow

"We are entering a healthier phase of the market," says ACA CEO Pat Gouhin. "The market is recovering through quality rather than quantity."

The Angel Capital Association's Women's Investor Forum is coming to Boston — and the Early Bird Rate ends August 15th.

Women are increasingly shaping where capital flows — as angel investors, as wealth holders, and as founders. This September, the ACA's Growing Women's Capital initiative brings together angels, aspiring investors, and industry leaders for two days of substantive conversation on exactly that.

📍 Foley Hoag Law Offices, Seaport West, Boston
📅 September 9-10, 2026

On the agenda:

Day 1 opens with a look at women's growing ownership stakes in professional sports, followed by a session on human-centered AI — how to integrate AI into an investor's workflow without losing the judgment and creativity that make angel investing work. The day wraps with a welcome reception.

Day 2 goes deeper: a fireside chat on women, wealth, and the future of capital; a session on trust and risk in AI-driven decision-making; creative paths to liquidity for angel investors beyond the traditional acquisition or IPO; and a look at philanthropic capital as a gateway to impact investing. The day closes with small-group roundtables on women and wealth, inspired by Marcia Dawood's Unapologetic Wealth.

Prefer to start earlier? An optional add-on — Ann and Bill Payne Angel University's Fundamentals of Angel Investing — runs from 12:00 PM on September 9th, offering a comprehensive introduction to the asset class for those newer to the space.

Our 2019 vintage just crossed 1.13x DPI — top 10% of that vintage year. Our 2020 fund is at a 2.77x TVPI, also top decile.

The difference isn't luck, it's structure:

The angel market is bouncing back — and doing it with discipline. 📈

ACA's new 2026 Angel Funders Report shows angel investment up 12% YoY to $491.3M, with investors writing bigger checks into fewer, higher-conviction deals.

Two sectors are pulling ahead of everything else: Life Sciences (now ~47% of angel dollars) and AI, where nearly two-thirds of angel groups made at least one investment in 2025.

"The market is recovering through quality rather than quantity," says ACA CEO Pat Gouhin.

Consideration for nomination is intentionally broad, from legislators to industry leaders to academia, in recognition of the broad reach and impact of angel investing. Individuals or teams of individuals may be self or third-party nominated.

Criteria for selection include the following:
