Rabbi Heschel reminds us that existence itself carries a kind of sacredness we don't have to prove or perform. Some days that's the hardest thing to believe.

If you're carrying something heavy right now, we hope you can find a moment today to simply be — and know that's holy too.

If we can be of help, call 913-214-2857 or email [email protected].

Healing doesn't start with fixing ourselves. It starts with kindness toward what's already there.

Pema Chödrön's words are a good reminder that self-compassion isn't a soft add-on to the hard work of growth — it's often what makes growth possible. When we stop bracing against our own feelings and meet them gently instead, we make room for change.

If you're carrying something heavy right now, know that support is here.

Last month we published our 2025 Gratitude Report. We are grateful to our clients, staff and generous supporters who made it all possible.

We are so grateful to share our 2025 Gratitude Report with you. Each year, taking stock of where we have been feels like an essential practice, for us as an organization and honestly for all of us as human beings. The highs and lows, the accomplishments and the hard moments, all of it.

Just a reminder! In partnership with our friends at Village Presbyterian Church we offer a monthly Grief Group at Village. It's the first Tuesday of each month. Next one is June 2nd (that's next week for those of us thinking May needs a few more days).

It is free to attend and you don't need to register. Just come on time at 6pm.

If you have questions, just let us know. Please share with anyone you know who might need this support.

This is a special opportunity from Botanical Belonging (where our Exec Dir is on the board) to experience a walk in a remnant prairie with Patti as the guide.

Spending time in nature is linked to both cognitive benefits and improvements in mood, mental health, and emotional well-being. The benefits must be at least double if you are exploring a prairie right? 😀

The parts of us we fear most are often the parts most in need of compassion, not combat.

Therapy creates space to turn toward what hurts, not away from it.

If you'd like to explore this work, we'd love to walk alongside you. Reach out at prairiesycounseling.com to get started.

It was great to get a shoutout from our fellow Solihten Institute member Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta. We celebrate you all and thank you for giving Prairie Sky a call-out. We are so grateful to our Village Presbyterian Church folks for all you do for us and our clients! Thanks to Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for highlighting our work!

ATLANTA — On a busy stretch of Peachtree Street in midtown Atlanta — steps from the High Museum of Art, Symphony Hall and Center Stage Theatre — an unassuming sign points toward a quieter kind of work. Mounted on the side of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, facing the Woodruff Arts Center...
