Are we helping adjusters think, or just helping them move files?

This thoughtful piece reflects on an important distinction: processing a claim isn’t the same as adjusting one.

Technology can organize information, automate routine tasks, and keep a file moving. But good adjusting still requires judgment, curiosity, and knowing when to ask the next question.

No two claims move at exactly the same pace.

A change in scope, missing documentation, vendor coordination, coverage questions, or internal review can all add time to the process.

Claims professionals know: sometimes “closed” is more of a suggestion.
