This is a video from Renewed Hope during the pandemic. I'm sharing it again because it helps explain my heart's motivation to serve at Renewed Hope. We started a weekly mobile pantry during the pandemic, not knowing even 6 years later we would still be hosting a weekly mobile pantry with 300+ families facing hunger every Tuesday. God knew. The song with this video explains why I serve. It says "Every day we go to war again" (the war is the spiritual battle for my heart). A verse that inspired me to first start volunteering at Renewed Hope while I transitioned my career to the nonprofit sector is Romans 12:21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (NKJV). I look at my life and pray, 'Lord, I don't know how to live this life. The world is spiraling further and further away from You. . . As in the days of Noah.' He tells me, do not be overcome by evil, overcome evil with good. So every day I wake up and go to war again -- refusing to stop believing God's promises and refusing to stop praying for my family and refusing to stop serving God. At Renewed Hope, we have a verse on our t-shirts from Psalm 34:8 "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him." I go to Renewed Hope and serve and take refuge in Him there. I want everyone to taste and see that God is good. The song in this video says about God's love "I hope they see it." I hope you see it too.
