What if your team could help make sure a child has food for the weekend?

Cans for Humanity is coming October 10 & 11 to Micronesia Mall! 🥫💙

We’re inviting businesses, churches, schools, clubs, organizations, families, and friends to get involved in a meaningful way:

• Build a team and create a canned food structure
• Become a food drop-off location and collect ready-to-eat canned meals
• Help us stock our pantry with foods kids can easily eat, like ravioli, spaghetti & meatballs, tuna, Vienna sausage, Spam, and other kid-friendly meals

Every can collected helps us provide food for children in Guam who may otherwise go without during weekends and school breaks.

One can may seem small. Together, those cans can become meals, hope, and one less hungry child.

Today our pastor spoke about the story of Esther and how small acts of faithfulness may go unseen in the moment, yet have an impact far beyond what we can imagine.

As I boxed up donated shoes today, I kept thinking about that.

What if one pair of shoes you donated was given to a child who grows up to become an Olympic athlete, a governor, a teacher, a business owner, or even the founder of a nonprofit serving the next generation of children?

We may never know exactly where each donated pair goes or the full story of the child who receives them. But we do know that something as simple as a pair of shoes can give a child dignity, confidence, comfort, and the reminder that someone sees them and believes their future matters.

A small act of faithfulness today can become part of a much bigger story tomorrow.

We aren’t just helping children get through today. We are helping carry them toward adulthood, toward their purpose, and toward possibilities we cannot yet see.

Their potential has no limit. ❤️

We’re looking for one creative volunteer—or a small team of volunteers— to help us create an educational presentation board about childhood hunger for our upcoming Hunger Action Month Rally at Micronesia Mall. 💙

We already have the statistics and information—we just need someone who enjoys organizing, designing, crafting, or bringing ideas to life to help turn those facts into an eye-catching display that will educate our community and inspire action.

This memory is one of the reasons our shoe program is so personal to me.

I still remember what it felt like to have a pair of shoes I was proud to wear to school — not because they were the most popular style, but because they were mine, and for a moment I felt like I fit in.

That feeling stays with a child.

So when we place a pair of shoes into the hands of a student today — whether they are new or gently used — I know it can mean so much more than what we see on the outside.

It can mean confidence. Belonging. Dignity. Joy.

And sometimes, simply feeling a little more like everyone else. đź’™

Her family lives on a ranch without a direct water connection, so they collect rainwater and do their best every day to make life work with what they have.

That is the part people do not always see.

Families can be working incredibly hard and still need help with something as basic as a pair of shoes for their child.

Today, she received a pair of shoes she needed — and her joy said everything.

This is why every donation matters. It is never just a pair of shoes. It can mean comfort, dignity, confidence, and one less worry for a family doing their best.

He was squeezing his feet into shoes two sizes too small.

Not because he wanted to.
Because they were the shoes he had.

For some children, going back to school means trying to make old shoes work—even when they hurt and no longer fit.

No child should have to walk into school uncomfortable or embarrassed because their family cannot afford another pair.

This is why every shoe donation matters. A pair of shoes that fits gives a child more than comfort—it gives them confidence, dignity, and the freedom to focus on being a kid.

We are still collecting new and gently used, clean, closed-toe shoes for children K–12.

Sometimes something as simple as the right size shoe can change how a child walks into their school day. đź’™

Give a few hours. Make a meaningful difference. 🧡

Join Be Heartfelt on Saturday, September 5, at Micronesia Mall for our Hunger Action Month Rally! Every week, our Meal Pack Program provides weekend food packs to more than 350 children who may otherwise go without food when school meals are unavailable.

We need caring volunteers to help welcome guests, support awareness activities, share our mission, and encourage our community to stand together against childhood hunger.

This photo captures what community partnership looks like—one of the wonderful Famous Footwear team members standing beside the shoes generously donated for children in need. 👟💙

Behind every successful donation drive is a team willing to welcome donations, encourage the community, and help move the mission forward. We are so grateful to the entire Famous Footwear staff for being part of that team.

We also want to recognize their manager, Taylor, whose support reaches far beyond simply providing a donation location. Year after year, she continues to open the doors, encourage her staff, and lead by example with a genuine heart for serving children.

Thank you, Taylor, the Famous Footwear team, and every person who donated. Because each of you said yes, more children will walk into school with comfortable shoes, confidence, and dignity.

Many of us take these basic necessities for granted. We have access to a hot shower, a washing machine to clean our clothes, and a new pair of shoes for the school year. But for some children, these everyday necessities are not guaranteed.

Imagine walking into school and facing your peers without clean clothes, hygiene supplies, new underwear, socks, or properly fitting shoes. These items are more than necessities—they give a child dignity, comfort, and the confidence to focus on learning instead of worrying about how they may be seen by others. 💙

During these first days of school, our School Social Worker Outreach Teams have been working tirelessly to place hygiene kits, new socks, new underwear, and shoes directly into the hands of children who need them most.

We are deeply grateful to Heart to Heart International, our generous private shoe donor, and every individual, family, business, and organization that participated in our Sock and Underwear Drive and Shoe Drive.

Every child deserves to walk into school feeling clean, prepared, valued, and ready to learn. Thank you for helping ensure these children are seen, loved, and cared for.

Look at how the donations have come in! đź‘źđź’™

A heartfelt thank-you to Kailee and her brother, two incredible students who chose to go above and beyond for children in need. They didn’t simply place our shoe-drive box at Peggy’s Store—they personally reached out to friends and family and invited them to help fill it.

Their compassion, initiative, and willingness to serve are such a beautiful example of what young people can accomplish when they care deeply about others.

Thank you to Kailee, her brother, Peggy’s Store, and every person who donated. Because of you, more children will have shoes that fit and the confidence to walk into school knowing someone cares. 💙
