Wow!! Christner Contracting employees and their families teamed up with us by volunteering their beautiful Saturday morning. They made a real difference and had a lot of fun while doing it!

From assembling benches and painting to tending the grounds and offering help wherever needed, it was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people unite together for a good cause.

We're extremely grateful for the work they accomplished.

Trudging through the mud to get to the other buildings on American Home Finding's Agency campus are days of the past. A big shout out to Cremer Concrete for their donation to make this project possible!! Check out the before and after.🚜

We wanted to share a quick update on the progress over at American Home Finding Association’s Agency Campus! If you recall the video we put out in November, we are graciously awarded $2,500 by the Ottumwa Legacy Foundation. We’re proud to show where some of those funds went to!

In the newest wave of renovations, we were able to update the mud/laundry room and add personal cubbies/storage for all of the children. In addition to that, we have added a new night monitoring station for the staff to allow them to keep an eye on all of the kids and ensure their safety at all times throughout the night. Lastly and most importantly, we have created two new individual rooms with new beds, and supplied a group room with four new beds!

One reason these beds are so important is that not only are they new and more safe than the previous, but they also allow the children to store their belongings and have a private area of their own, which has helped in behavior modification and giving the children a sense of ownership and pride. Although the work we do isn’t complicated, we’ve been blessed to see it have major impacts that ripple out to many lives!

As the month of January draws to an end, we wanted to take a moment and share some of the progress we’ve seen since you last saw us!

First, we’ve installed new security doors and locking systems to multiple locations. This has been a high item on our list to ensure the security of the children as well as the building as a whole.

Next we’ve begun some much needed renovations on the kitchen, one of these items being a steel shelf to help with the issue of food storage. We look forward to sharing additional renovations to the kitchen that are ongoing or upcoming!

Lastly, we’re thankful to say that the control room is finally complete! This room is a crucial tool that allows students to have a private and quite space to recollect themselves and do so in a manner that is non-disruptive to the environment.

Overall, we cannot thank you enough for your support. As we begin to close out the first year of work at American Home Finding Association in Agency, we also look towards the even larger impact we can make in Year 2!

We haven't posted in a while since we've had our heads down grinding out some beds for American Home Finding Association.

Well, it's more than a bed: its a home, their safe area, their "I've got to get away from everyone and chill" space.

Early on we built these for the girls' room. Now, it's time for the boys to get theirs. We are so excited for them! Stay tuned.....

We are EXTREMELY honored to have been the recipient of the Runner-Up award of the Ottumwa Legacy Foundation’s Non-Profit Video Challenge!

Our goal has never been to bring attention to ourselves, but rather to the numerous children who are faced with countless difficulties and tough circumstances in their lives. We believe strongly that these kids deserve better, deserve an advocate, and deserve a chance at a successful and prosperous future.

We cannot begin to express how humbling it is to have all of our supporters and friends along with us, propelling us forward towards the ultimate goal of benefiting and empowering these kids.

To all of the staff at the American Home Finding Association, thank you for being our partners in this journey, and for being there making an impact every single day.

We are so excited for what the futures holds not only in this endeavor, but wherever the future calls us to. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all!

The talent and passion in this year’s Nonprofit Video Challenge were so inspiring that we couldn’t stop at just one prize! That’s why, in addition to the $5,000 grand prize, we’re awarding a $2,500 Runner-Up Prize to 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐭 𝐀 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞!

Their video told a powerful story of hope and impact that touched our hearts and reminded us why supporting nonprofits matters so much. 💙

Just a week ago we officially opened the competition renovation of the AHFA Agency Living Room. The previous space had a hard planked floor that cracked often, reflected the cold, and a unusable brick fireplace which took up a large amount of space.

With the remodel, our aim was to make the space more comfortable, more inviting, along with adding in special (and needed) features such as s sensory area, new and secure medicine room, and a control room for the kids to collect themselves in when needed.

As our goal of having this be a partnership between American Home Finding Association and the community, we absolutely have to thank Tom Keck and Dale and Karen Person. Without their generous contributions, this space would not be here!
