Otterbein SOAR members had the opportunity to tour the Long Center (formerly the Mars Theater) and learn the history of this amazing building. John Hughey, Executive Director, gave us a wonderful behind-the-scenes look. It was fun to get on the stage and pretend we were all performing before a crowded audience!

It's finally here! The Otterbein Spring Flower Plant Sale! The Otterbein Rotary Club hopes you will support the Friends of the Otterbein Library and order your plants and flowers from them. They are taking orders NOW for these beautiful, hardy, locally-grown plants. Look for paper order-forms at the banks, the town hall, Otterbein Foods, and the Otterbein Public Library. Farmers & Merchants Bank in Otterbein is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday the 9th. There is a major shortage in Indiana and with the recent weather several drives have been cancelled. They need 11 more donors to register. It is only an hour out of your day. Each donor will receive a gift card in an email after giving. If you can give, it would be AMAZING! Please spread the word. Bring a friend!

Beginning December 1st, the members of the Otterbein Rotary Club will become Otterebein SOAR (Supporting Otterbein Area Residents) . We still will be a philanthropic organization that tries to address the needs of our community. We hope you will continue to follow us at our new Facebook home and please let us know what ways we can help make Otterbein an even better place to BE IN!

Helping your library can change lives!

Hi, Friends!
Please join us at our August Friends of the Otterbein Library on Monday, August 18th at 6:00 pm in the library. We will talk about the street festival results, the improved landscaping (Thank You, Angie!), bylaws and funds, and make plans for other ways to assist our library. Bring a friend and your ideas. Otterbein Rotary served pancakes and sausage at the Otterbein Ball Diamonds last month and all proceeds were donated to the Benton County Special Olympics. This donation will be used to purchase t-shirts for the upcoming area meet and state games in September.
