Thank you so much to everybody who rallied together last night to pack ONE HUNDRED SIXTY BAGS with More Than Food Foundation!!! With our original goal being 100 blessing bags, we are so pumped to have exceeded it! We couldn't have done it without the people in our community who gathered to help combat an issue no child should ever face.

If you feel inclined to support, More Than Food Foundation will be packing 140 weekly blessing bags this summer for children. They are accepting shelf-stable food donations, monetary donations, or even just your time! (See our last photo for more.) Together we can help mitigate child hunger in Franklin County!

On May 14th at 5:30 PM, OAYP and More Than Food Foundation will be packings blessing bags for children to have access to over the summer!!

We highly encourage you to support this effort by donating individually wrapped, shelf-stable food items to the Chamber office between now and the day of the event! If you're unable to donate food items but would still like to contribute, monetary donations are also welcome. You can support the nonprofit by sending funds to . 🏢 $575/month for MTFF overhead expenses

🚙 $5k SAVINGS GOAL to put towards purchasing a MTFF vehicle (and maintenance/tags/insurance)
• Once we have been an established 501(c)3 for an extended period of time (1-2 year minimum), there are grants out there to assist with vehicle purchases.

OAYP is proud to volunteer with More Than Food Foundation to pack blessing bags for children facing food insecurity during summer break. Throughout the school year, many children rely on school as their primary source of daily meals. When summer arrives, that support disappears, leaving a critical gaps. On May 14th at 5:30 PM, OAYP and More Than Food Foundation will pack weekly blessing bags, as well as additional bags for local libraries for children to access over the summer.

Food insecurity is a real issue in our community. Nearly 650 students in rural FR. CO. schools alone are experiencing food vulnerabilities. We highly encourage you to support this effort by donating individually wrapped, shelf-stable food items between now and the day of the event. You can drop them off at the Chamber office where the nonprofit can pick them up! Our goal is to pack 80 bags, but we would love to reach 100 bags or more!

Kick off your holidays by helping others! Donate blood at the Ottawa Red Cross Blood Drive from 12pm-6pm on Wednesday, November 24th, at Celebration Hall.
