Update -we had many people reach out in a short amount of time and he has a ride secured, so thank you very much. There will be another need for this I'm sure in the future unfortunately.

We need a lifesaver Uber ride from Ottawa, Illinois to Arlington Heights, Illinois to transport a cat whose life has been saved by acceptance into a shelter who is capable of adopting out FIV positive cats.
I can't drive to Arlington Heights because I have driveophobia, that's what I call it.
If anyone would like to be a lifesaver, respond on here.

I have literally just pulled into my driveway after working on the phone and in person at the vet clinic all day long over Coco the siamese, and the fiv-positive kid whose life was saved by finding a shelter that would accept him. He has a little injury that needs to be tended for a bit longer and this place is capable of doing that once the vet is comfortable with the healing process, which she currently is.
So Coco should be getting picked up tonight or tomorrow from the vet clinic by his owner who is currently in Chicago, but is coming down for the weekend, she told me that her cats like to run around out here in the rural area. I alerted her to all of the dangers of that and to the fact that they are taking the food from the cats who are desperate for it and also scaring them away from the only safe place they have to eat. She was very nice and I don't think she understood all the dangers out here. So any comments on that will be deleted we can just keep our thoughts in our head.
And the FIV positive kid , I'm not going to say too much about that other than he needs a ride to Arlington Heights on Wednesday. I will make a separate post right after this one to try and secure him a ride.

Not part of my plan for the day so it's another hour and a half of my time waylaid and lost, but I was able to grab the Siamese today so that will be going to the vet. There was no shortage of shelters willing to take this one. In the last 2 days I saw another one only it's flame point instead of seal point. It ran away from me.

Are there any shelters out there who have an FIV cat adoption program? This is a young, two year old, neutered male current on vaccines and has a microchip that you can register.
I'll wait for the influx of replies, LOL.

Curly is always the first Meals on Wheels stop of the day.
There was some construction being done in her area yesterday, and I pulled up about the same time as the workers. I informed them of her existence for her safety, and they said we just saw her take off running, she sure is pretty.
I said she's an old lady, so be kind.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. We no longer have enough people to keep this organization running as required by the rule of NFP standard.
We will be dissolving by the end of the month because of this reason. What does this mean? In basic terms, you have to have x amount of people to run a not for profit corporation we no longer have enough people to do that, because feral cats trap neuter return and feeding outdoor cats is not high on anybody's list. Therefore, it will dissolve in name and on paper. The work will continue and the need will still be there.
What does this mean for me?
It means I don't have to answer to the public that chases me through the grocery store, or the people that beat on my door, the emails, the texts, the phone calls, the Christmas TNR needs, so this part will make my cardiologist and my heart happy.
We can still accept food and you can still help out by placing money directly on the vet clinic books if you so choose.
What does this mean for the cats?
Nothing will change for them. I will continue to feed them 7 days a week in three locations and 5 days a week in the fourth location, with Tracy continuing to pick up the other two days at that location.
Aside from life and feeding cats, there's a lot of footwork involved in this process. My hope is to be able to just change the name of this page and keep posting on here. If not, I will direct you to a new page for these cats.
We are going to operate off of an Amazon wish list where people can still send food to support them because they still need food, but we can't run this organization without enough people to do so.
I have given my life to these cats, I am out feeding cats within 10 minutes of being awake every morning 365 days a year for 3 decades.
I have fed cats before attending funerals of my young loved ones. I have fed cats with garbage bags over a long arm cast in the rain. I have fed cats when I thought I was going to drop dead from an endocrine disease.
I have paid people to drive me around to feed cats when I had no use of my arm and for safety reasons couldn't drive. I feed and TNR cats, that's what I do.
The PayPal will be shut down in due time, so to anyone who I haven't contacted yet, if any payments are made after this week, they will be refunded to the sender.
Again, this is a lot of leg work and it's all on me in addition to feeding cats and taking care of sick cats and tending to my own life.
We are grateful to all who have supported this mission for the last 17 years and thousands of cats thank you.
I will be out feeding cats first thing tomorrow morning, and then working on some more paperwork on this. I will update on the status of the page and the Amazon wish list as we progress.
My veterinarian is going to continue to give me the same courtesy discount that we have received over the years, as the number of cats that I have daily contact with won't change.
I guess that wasn't so short, but it wasn't as long as it could have been with my speak text.
I won't be replying to any comments.

Looks like I've been shearing a sheep. I'm going to shave Capone while he's eating at insulin time as his food is withheld for 2 hours before that, so he's always good and hungry. He's going to look like his 5 year old sister cut his hair, but that's okay.

I took this nice fella into the vet clinic today and he tested negative/ negative, so he will be going to Pet Project.
Big shout out to the guy who dumped him and left him to fend for himself.

I hope you get a great home, Marty.

Guess who's back? Any shelters out there interested in this kid? I believe when I got a peek before it was a neutered male. Wasn't expecting to see it today and I don't have time to take it into the Vet because I have life things I need to do for myself. Everybody loves Siamese.
It does not have two tails contrary to what my picture shows.
