Supporting Our Military Families This Back to School Season 🇺🇸

Each year, the United Way of Putnam County hosts our annual Back to School Assistance Program to help local students start the school year prepared and confident.

This year, we want to make sure our military families are included and supported. We are proud to partner with Putnam County Veterans Services to assist all current and past military families in our county with back to school needs.

If your family qualifies, registration is available online at unitedwayputnam.org. When completing the registration form, simply check the military/veteran family box so we can ensure your family receives the support available.

Because when we Unite, we strengthen our community. ❤️💙

Back To School Assistance Program Registration is OPEN! ✏️📚

The United Way of Putnam County Back to School Assistance Program is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year!

This program provides backpacks and supplemental school supplies to eligible Putnam County students to help families prepare for a successful start to the school year.

📌 Registration deadline: August 1, 2026
📌 This is an invitation-only event and is available to families who qualify through our income eligibility program.

Vanessa Hilvers put together 20 Care Boxes along with Blankets as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Service Project!! These boxes are ready to be distributed to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

“I would love to donate these care boxes to PCAP and help get them into the hands of patients who could benefit from them.”

A huge THANK YOU to the John Henry Eldred Foundation and Walmart Spark Grant for supporting our Back-to-School Assistance Program through grant funding!

Because of your generosity, the United Way of Putnam County can continue to provide backpacks and supplemental school supplies to income-eligible families throughout Putnam County.

As the cost of school supplies continues to rise, programs like this help lessen the financial burden for local families and ensure students start the school year prepared and confident.

It is our mission that every child in Putnam County has the tools they need to succeed in school, and your support helps make that possible.
