The Emu Ranch got a front page seat on City Lifestyle Magazine! So happy for them and the article is a great read! We are so happy to have Ariel and Thaddeus as members in the AEA 🥰

The first impression of The Emu Ranch in Bonne Terre, Missouri, is defined by size and sound. Standing eye-to-eye with a six-foot emu is unforgettable, but it is the deep, resonant drumming that truly captures your attention. The guttural rhythm rolls across emerald pastures, creating an atmosphere....

Why Join the AEA?
What is the benefit?
I've been asked this question. My answer is lengthy because the benefits membership has had for my operation have been transforming.
Its the people. The connections.
Let's start with Dennis, Matt Gulick, Cyril Cline, and Ngon Nyugen who helped me procure birds. This during a time when there were very few birds to be found.
Then Dennis, Cyril, and Joyleen Revis who sold me incubators, supplies, or pointed out resources. That first equipment was vital in my first adventure into incubation and chick rearing.
Next I want to recognise Ngon and Brian Smith who helped me with processing my first birds. Even transportation of birds and fat. I hauled birds a long way in those days and these gentlemen offered encouragement and helpful advice.
Jay Winslow, an electrical and heating guru, who was instrumental in assisting me in refubishing my first incubator. In farming one becomes a "Jack of all trades", especially living in rural Arkansas.
But the most important part of being a part of this amazing organization continues to be outpouring of support during this journey. Many members with helpful advise even if it wasnt what I wanted to hear.
I've been a part of the American Emu Assocation for 8 years, I've collaborated on several commitees, and am currently serving on the Board of Directors.
I can tell you, unequivocally, that being a part of this association, meeting amazing, inspiring farmers at the conventions, and the cultivation of meaningful friendships through this organization is the reason that Gum Creek Emus exists and thrives.
Myself and the members of the Board would love to see you a the convention at Montgomery Bell State Park in September.
Let us be a part of your new adventure.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at the American Emu Association!

Why are we having a convention at a state park?
This is why.
The view from a room on the 4th floor.
Not a parking lot
Not a freeway
No airport noise.

Worried about logistics to get you to/from Nashville airport? We( the board) have it covered.
