WE CAN HELP THE TEXAS FLOOD VICTIMS!!

Have you been watching the news and wishing you could do something to help the people in Texas who have lost so much due to Hurricane Harvey and all the terrible flooding. The opportunity is before us!

Wolf Creek Power plant is organizing delivery of supplies to Matagorda County American Red Cross. Matagorda is home to the South Texas Project Nuclear Facility. It is located between Corpus Christie and Houston, the two headliner areas on the news. They have opened up their collection of items to the communities between Ottawa and Emporia.

They are trying to get items most essential for the residents and people displaced from their homes. These items would include the following: cases of bottled water, basic toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.), blankets and pillows, towels, diapers, formula, and ready to eat foods. Items must be new. Clothes cannot be accepted. Items can be purchased at Wal-Mart, Price Chopper and Walgreens and put in bins that are provided at those locations. You may also purchase items and bring them to Westminster Church and place on the table outside the sanctuary on Sunday. The outside doors by the office will be open from 8:00-5:00 each week day (until noon on Friday) as well as Wednesday evening, September 6th until 8:00 and items can be left in the office.

Items will need to be at the church by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7th. People from Wolf Creek will pick them up on Friday morning, September 8th and deliver them to Texas on September 9th. They are planning on taking several trailers of supplies.
