A collaboration of American farmers helping Ugandan farmers become more self sufficient.

We are ecstatic to announce we have received a Rotary International Grant.
With collaboration with Ottawa Sunrise Rotary Club, Rotary District 6420, Rotary Club of Kabarole, and Rotary District 9213 we have been granted $120,424!
This grant will help us purchase a dump truck, three wheel utility vehicles and a motorcycle. These will give TUF the ability to transport the farmers grain and be able to go to some of the very rural areas that are hard to reach with vehicles.
We also will be able to expand the TUF outreach to four more groups(120 farmers) and provide supplies needed for those said groups.
The grant will not just transform the lives of our farmers, but their families and communities. We are very grateful for all that have contributed to this!

We would like to thank everyone who attended our fourth annual event! Our crew of over 50 helped serve 225 attendees. Our biggest crowd yet!
Food was hearty and delicious. Kids had fun with the activities and great conversation was had by all.

Preparations are well underway for “Breakfast on the Farm”, TUF’s 4th Annual Harvest Hand Up Event! Join us Saturday, September 12, 2026 for all the fun! We will be serving breakfast from 7am - Noon.

We will have a 50/50 Raffle and a very special opportunity to win this special quilt made by Marsha Butterfield to support our farmers! She was inspired by the TUF project and created this special cozy lap quilt. 100% of the ticket sales will support bucket water filter systems (each kit costs about $30) for our TUF Farmers to use in their homes for 1,000’s of gallons of cleaner drinking water. 1 ticket for $10, 3 for $20

We want to thank The Blackhawk Presbytery for their grant that allowed TUF to purchase a corn sheller to be used by the Ugandan farmers.

We had anticipated seeing these smiles in person. Unfortunately, our trip was postponed due to the Ebola outbreak. These photos represent some of the hundreds of farmers we had intended to work with during the harvest. Fortunately, none of the TUF farmers have been affected!

Sponsored from the beginning of their time in TUF by Northern Partners Cooperative
Moses and his wife Evelyn, TUF farmers from Nyabwina VSLA, got a loan from their VSLA.
Using the loan they rented a room in the center which they use to aggregate produce. They buy from farmers and collect the corn together with what they harvest and sell through the TUF network of buyers to get better income, TUF has to verify the grain quality first before he is linked to the buyer.
He is very happy with Volumes and quality from TUF farmers.

We are forever grateful for the 5th grade class at Grove Elementary in Bloomington! The class lead a school wide fundraiser for water systems that our TUF farmers will be rewarded with. The nearly $1450 will provide clean water systems for up to 30 families!

These will be presented this summer on the next work trip lead by Joe & Nathalie.

This amazing team of 5th grade teachers led their students into a lesson about water scarcity, it helped them understand in a very real way a very real need, and then they chose to make a difference. We are thankful for these very special teachers!

It is harvest time in Uganda. The following images were taken during the harvesting activity at Rwengoro Primary School's Early Farmers Agriclub, in addition to training sessions focused on Harvest and Post-Harvest Practices.
