We're proud to share that H2Ozarks' StreamSmart program is featured in the Spring 2026 issue of LakeLine, the magazine of the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS)!

Our article tells the story of how community volunteers have spent 12+ years protecting Beaver Lake, one water sample at a time.đź’§ They monitor small streams across the watershed that other entities don't cover, and their data are revealing new nutrient trends in War Eagle Creek.

HOF Awards Grants to Fund Six More Projects
As part of its mission to celebrate, promote and preserve the sport of bass fishing, the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors is again providing financial support to numerous conservation projects that will benefit grassroots efforts to improve the sport.

Over the past six years, the BFHOF has provided grants totaling over $127,000 to local bass fishing clubs and other organizations working with state fishery management agencies for various conservation projects.

“Thanks to our substantial fundraising success this year, we are prepared to offer nearly $20,000 in additional donations beyond our traditional conservation grants,” said BFHOF conservation committee chair Gene Gilliland. “We realized that there are a host of projects that don’t fit into the traditional bass club/agency partnership model. These groups have been selected for their foresight and commitment to improving the sport with boots-on-the-ground sweat equity.”.....

We are so proud of the local leadership and hard work of the Lake Red Rock Lake Association in enhancing the largest reservoir in the state with desperately needed fish habitat! Great work, Rich and team, and huge thanks to the local businesses who supported the project, including the Vermeer, Pella Rolscreen, and Kuyper Foundations.

823 structures in the water, strategically placed to maximize fishery benefit for as long as possible. Go find some crappie on these structures this spring!

Wonderful to see the Douglas Lake, TN project moving forward through Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Friends of Douglas Lake (FODL), and Friends of Reservoirs. FODL, a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to improving and sustaining fish populations in Douglas Lake, to enhance fish habitat. FODL is one of more than 150 chapters of the Friends of Reservoirs foundation, which operates in 37 states. (FODL) will help existing fish habitats and introduce new ones safely and effectively, which will provide cover for young fish and increase survival rates.

Friends of Douglas Lake works closely with landowners, volunteers, TWRA, and the Tennessee Valley Authority to enhance existing fish habitats and introduce new ones safely and effectively. Great news story in the comments!

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of NFHP we are highlighting recent projects in a weekly PROJECT PROFILE post. Here we highlight the Raystown Lake Habitat Barge project, sponsored by the Reservoir Fish Habitat Partnership Friends of Reservoirs and led by Friends of Raystown Lake in 2022. Thank you to all of our additional partners that further supported this project including Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission , Juniata College , Student Conservation Association, Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau , U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pennsylvania Striped Bass Association

The lake habitat project improved the aquatic habitat at the lake in several popular areas. The projects major partners are the Friends of Raystown(FRL), Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission(PFBC), USACE, Juniata College, Pennsylvania Striper Association, and the National Fish Habitat Partnership. PFBC staff used both a specialized rock barge and land based heavy equipment to improve eroded shorelines. They also created rock and rootwad humps in areas that lack any significant structure. Through this project these “aquatic deserts” were transformed into areas that support increased fish populations with greater species richness.

We want to hear from you. Let us know if you are familiar with the project, participated in the effort, or recreate in the area! Let us know in the comments.

We appreciate you, Bass Pro Shops !
