🌱 Another Harvest from the Otis Community Garden! 🌱

Even with the cooler weather starting to settle in, our garden is still giving us plenty to be thankful for! 🥕🥒🍅🫑

Today’s harvest was another beautiful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together. ❤️ Some of the plants are definitely starting to feel the change in temperature, but there is still plenty growing and producing.

Everything we harvest continues to be donated to our local food pantries, helping provide fresh, homegrown produce to families in our community. 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has helped plant, w**d, water, harvest, and keep this garden going throughout the season. Your time and hard work truly make a difference!

Another amazing harvest from our community garden! 💚

This is just some of the fresh produce our volunteers harvested to donate to the food pantry. Every cucumber, tomato, pepper, squash and handful of vegetables represents time, teamwork and a whole lot of love.

We’re so proud that this garden is able to provide fresh, homegrown food to our neighbors who need it. What started with a few seeds has grown into something that truly makes a difference. 🌻

Today I brought my grandkids to the Community Garden, and they had such a wonderful time! 🥕🌱💚

They loved exploring the garden, sampling sweet peas right off the vine, pulling up a fresh carrot, and picking a squash. There’s something special about seeing children discover where food comes from and getting excited about vegetables they helped harvest!

The garden is growing beautifully, and moments like these make all the hard work worthwhile. 🌿☀️

We’re so grateful for everyone who helps make this garden possible and supports our mission of growing fresh food for our community. 💚

🌱 Community Garden Update! 🌱

Another wonderful harvest day at the community garden! Thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers, we continue to grow fresh, healthy vegetables for families in our community.

Every w**d pulled, every plant watered, and every basket harvested is the result of neighbors helping neighbors. We couldn’t do it without the amazing people who generously give their time each week.

This week’s harvest was beautiful, and we’re proud to share the bounty with the local food pantry. Seeing all of this fresh produce headed to tables where it’s needed most reminds us why this garden is so special.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, we’d love to have you join us. Whether you have a green thumb or are just willing to lend a hand, there’s always something to do—and it’s a lot of fun!

The Otis Community Garden is happy to share this week's harvest for the Lee Food Pantry! Fresh spinach, lettuce, rhubarb, and radishes were harvested and delivered to help provide healthy, locally grown produce to our neighbors.
A big thank you to all of our gardeners and volunteers who make these donations possible. We are proud to support our community one harvest at a time! 🌱🥬❤️

Mother Nature was off to a slow start this spring, but we are finally on our way! Most beds are planted and we’re starting to see early growth across the garden. We love seeing the community come and work together to bring this garden to life again this year!
If you’ve been thinking about joining, it’s never too late.

The beets and radishes have been planted together. The bok choy and frisee has been planted, as has the kale.
Next are the carrots and onions.

It's not too late to join the Otis Community Garden, which has been a community resource for organically grown produce since 2009. All the beds have been prepped with new compost for this year, thanks to the Boy Scouts. Anyone who lives in and around Otis, including Sandisfield, Monterey and Becket are welcomed to participate. We are happy to tell you more about how we have farm cooperatively for ourselves while donating to both the Otis and Lee Food Bank and also provide vegetables and herbs to the Otis seniors all summer. Copies of our Membership forms are available at both the Otis Library and at Town Hall.

Time to join this year's efforts at the Otis Poultry Farm. Membership forms will be available at both the Otis Library and at Town Hall in the hallway nearest the front door, starting this Monday. The deadline is May 15 to sign up as we will be planting the colder weather crops toward the end of May. We have volunteers from all the areas closest to Otis and welcome new and returning volunteers of all ages and capabilities. Whether you are physically active or not, there is a task for you which will allow you all the benefits of the garden. Why drive to a grocery store when you can pick what you want on any given day. Help your neighbors and seniors to eat freshly harvested vegetables and herbs through our weekly donations. For more information, please write us at [email protected]. It takes a village!
