Looks like it may finally be spring! The pantry is quite busy and I wanted to share a list for anyone who would like to help out a bit.
We are often asked what we need and our answer is that if there is something that you would really miss on your own shelf, a favorite item or even brand of something; then that is the perfect donation to the food pantry.
Things we could use right now include, kid snacks, Peanut butter and jelly, Pasta shapes, like elbow macaroni etc and sauce; (always sauce). baking supplies, condiments like mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and salad dressings, brownie or muffin mixes, canned chicken and tuna. coffee, tea and juice.
The pantry benefits from fresh vegetables and fruit from Berkshire Bounty, Berkshire Grown, and a farm to food access. We receive milk from High Lawn Farms each week as well as butter and eggs through BB. The pantry uses monetary donations to purchase frozen meat from Whorles every week as well. Our little pantry has grown into a well oiled machine of donations and volunteers. We benefit from local farmers pantry patrons and gardeners who share their extra at harvest as well as the Otis Community Garden. A volunteer picks up baked goods from Big Y in Lee every week and he is very popular when he arrives on Wednesday mornings. Local businesses and contractors are very generous as well. Recently a truck load of non-perishable food was donated by a local contractor. This donation lasted for almost a month. Organizations and private individuals have dropped off grocery gift cards as well so that patrons may shop for something that they normally would not be able to afford. Staff at town hall makes sure we have tables available and never complain about the noise or amount of flattened boxes we leave behind and we are grateful. There is a large blue safe box at the back door of town hall where people can leave non-perishable donations at any time. A volunteer checks the box each day. We were founded in August 2020 during the pandemic as a way to help out anyone who wanted to stop by. The pantry has become an amazing team and family and we are grateful to all of you who continue to keep us up and running. The pantry is open every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Anyone can message us here on Messenger. Thank you everyone.

A quick reminder to anyone who would like to browse the seeds we have left available at the pantry. We still have some seeds left and we are happy to have you stop in at the pantry on Wednesday between 9 and 11 to see if there is anything you can use for your gardens this year. Our local gardeners are probably already planting seedlings and we hope to continue your harvest sharing this summer. Thank you everyone!

Good Morning and Happy Pantry Day! If any of our local gardeners would like to stop by between 9 and 11, we still have some seeds left for you to plant this season. We hope to continue our garden sharing this season! Please stop in and help yourself!

Hi Pantry folks. We have been seeing an uptick in many respiratory viruses, flu, covid and stomach bugs. We would like to reinforce our policy for the safety of everyone who visits and volunteers. Please do not come in to the pantry if you are ill. You may contact us via text or Facebook message here if you need to have us pack a bag for you. We can deliver it right to your car trunk for a contactless visit. Or we can make other arrangements with you. There are members of our visitors and staff who are immunocompromised and in order to keep everyone safe we ask that you please follow these guidelines. The number to text is 413-207-4028. Or use the Facebook messenger here on the page. Thank you everyone.
