We forgot to take a group photo but our Landscaping With Love team had a great time at Side Door Cafe celebrating the conclusion of our three-year effort to bring the green back to the yards and homes of folks who survived the 2020 wildfires. I am so proud of our team - we stayed together for the entire 3 years, only losing one person, Judi Jones Barkley (one of our Master Gardeners) who moved to Spokane this year. Amazing team!
AD DuRette - wildfire survivor who let us use her land and restore her greenhouse to serve the community.
Joanne Daschel Artist - local artist and former landscaper who was with me when we came up with the concept and has continued to work at the greenhouse over the years.
Rachel SheHer Robertson and Dana Morgan , both survivors who lost their homes, have been tireless in working at the greenhouse and providing advice and instructions on planting and maintaining outdoor plants.
Emmy Krauss who also lost her house, was hired first to serve at the Grange and then assigned to LWL part time. Our only paid person, she's kept us on track and kept all of our records sorted for 3 years! Her last day will be Tuesday, Oct 17th.
Kriss Hoffman and Nancy Boerema - Kriss was with Joanne and I when we came up with the concept and Nancy joined us not too long after. They're both hard workers - nothing has been too big for these two to take on!
Alice Madhuri Velky 's property, like Kriss and Nancy, was partially burned. Alice has worked every week, and is always willing to drop over to water or whatever is needed.
Debbie Brown Hoffman , who makes all of our fantastic signs, made multiple trips with her dump trailer to get wood for the raised beds - and built many of them herself!
My entire team has worked hard and I'm so proud of them! I could go on and on about all the ways they've contributed to making LWL so successful in the midst of multiple hardships.
Many other people and groups have helped us and the community - especially the Cascade Relief Team who allowed us to be part of their group and share their nonprofit status. And Norma Jean Bice-Washburn who supported my decision to leave Salmon River Grange Distribution Center and start LWL! We are grateful and humbled by this opportunity we had to serve you !
