Foundation was founded in memory of Kyle Lutey, a 10-year-old boy who never met a stranger and always met life with enthusiasm and gusto. Company Overview:

On October 13, 2018, our life was shattered when we lost our beautiful son, Kyle. The Smile 4 Kyle Foundation began as a dream of two distraught parents within hours of learning of their son’s tragic and unexpected departure from this earth into heaven. Desperate for hope and something to cling to and a refusal to allow the bright light of their son be extinguished - the dream for the Smile 4 Kyle Foundation was born. Kyle loved people, his friends, and family and met life with such enthusiasm and gusto that it required action. This foundation is something remarkable to remember his life by. As a superhero enthusiast and a thriving young musician, Kyle left behind his brand new bassoon strap that he never even got to use. For his family, it was a heartbreaking visual representation of all the opportunities he would miss, and it cemented firmly in our heart that no child should ever have to miss the opportunities they are eager for. Within just a few days, students in his hometown of Othello, WA came up with the hashtag of and that spread throughout the community. Before his family could even hold Kyle’s celebration of life service, it was clear the name would be the Smile 4 Kyle Foundation. The four pillars of the foundation are:

1. Creating opportunities for children and families for recreation, enjoyment, learning and adventure.

2. Providing opportunities for youth with scholarships for the activities they have interest in, such as swim lessons, athletic teams, camps, musical instrument rental - we want to partner with students to make their hopes and dreams come true.

3. Providing support to children and families in the foster care system.

4. Building the William Kyle Lutey Memorial Auditorium in Othello with seating for all future local events- concerts, theatre, dance, etc. The Smile 4 Kyle foundation is a tribute to a young boy who spread love, joy and kindness everywhere he went, and is a call to action for all of us left behind to celebrate life, be intentional about building relationships, cultivate community, and to make the world a better place by leaving a legacy that can live for generations to come.

We’ve celebrated acts of Kindness for Kyle on the 13th of every month for 5 whole years! 😇🥰❤️ Kyle’s fun loving and adventurous heart inspired Kyle’s two little sisters to sneak out in the middle of the night (with their parents in tow, of course ) hiding treasures all over town to create smiles for someone else! 😁😁😁If you find a kindness rock, feel free to keep or rehide it for someone else! 🥰 Just don’t forget to Share some kindness today!

I cannot count the number of times people have said to me: “ Kyle lived more LIFE in his 10 short years than most people will EVER LIVE in their entire life” He soaked it all in, chased it down and lived life full of ZEST and passion. I heard it said recently that the age your are when you die does not define how old you are. If you can only live to 25 years old, and you’re 24… watch out… because you are actually very old. Your time is running out. And we don’t know how much longer we have to truly LIVE. So start NOW. What if today’s the only day you got?

Kids Outdoor Education presents Kids! Fishing Day. Ages 5-14 chance to catch fish in the Columbia Park Pond! No fishing license required during event. Bait and rigging included and registered participants will receive a fishing rod and reel and t-shirt to take home. There is a 3 fish maximum catch limit.

Kids! Fishing Day is co-sponsored by the City of Kennewick, Griggs Ace Hardware, Richland Rod and Gun Club, Columbia Basin Fly Casters, Ranch and Home, Coca Cola, Deadworm Fishing, BIG 95.7 FM, and Sportsman's Warehouse.
