While my heart breaks over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, it also breaks over the humanitarian crisis in Sudan. Why do politicians and politically active citizens in the US speak out about the situation in Gaza, yet are largely silent when it comes to Sudan? Aren't all hurting lives important?

We're happy to report that our application was approved and we have been partnered with IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigration Services - https://irisct.org/). We've submitted a one-page document that summarizes our community and highlights what makes Oswego special. This document will be translated and circulated among Afghan families searching for a home. We're anticipating that it leads to a family selecting our community. We will keep you posted!

IRIS empowers refugees and immigrants to become self-sufficient and integrated into their new communities. At the same time, newcomers enrich our communities, making this a better place for all of us.

OWNA Sponsor Circle - Oswego, NY is about to have our application approved for an Afghan newcomer family to come to Oswego. We will most likely need translation help in order to communicate with the family as soon as we meet them at the airport.
