Sharing for our neighbors in Maine as they ask for support for their next section - The MDT in Fryeburg is a wonderful example of what a rec path can be! We are lucky to have this place so near, go check it out & have an amazing day on the trail and in the town center!

Preliminary design to convert 10 miles of the inactive Mountain Division Rail Corridor into an interim off-road shared-use path/trail.

Trail towns thrive!

The rails-to-trails movement shows no sign of abating, and a recent scholarly study found housing and neighborhoods near the new trails benefit from their presence.

We hope all the moms out there had a wonderful weekend and got to enjoy some family time on their favorite trails! 💙

✨ We’re celebrating today! ✨

A huge THANK YOU to the many FORT members who have supported the Conway Branch Rec Trail over the past year! Your emails, letters, conversations, & meeting attendance made a real difference. Because of your backing, the State of NH Trails Bureau has decided to expedite construction of the first phase of the rec trail through Center Ossipee! We especially thank our representatives: Johnathan Smith, Mark McConkey, and Joseph Kenney who worked with the NH State Parks team: Craig Reenie, Johanna Lyons, Mike Weeks, and Alexis Rudko, to facilitate this process.

We’re so excited to see this public, ADA-accessible trail become a reality — creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors together. We can’t wait to see everyone out on the trail once it’s complete! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🌿

Thank you for helping move this project forward!

OSSIPEE — Outdoor enthusiasts could have a nearly 3-mile stone-dust trail built next to the Conway Branch rail by early fall, state officials told an advisory committee on Wednesday.
