Ossian Rotary to Learn about Alive & Well Teens
Ossian Rotary will hear from Wendy Bailey, Executive Director and founder of Alive & Well Teens, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people make healthy choices physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually. The meeting will be this Thursday morning, June 12th, 7:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1001 Dehner Drive, on the north side of Ossian.
With a background in health and abstinence education, Wendy has spent years inspiring and equipping students through engaging, interactive classroom programs that encourage positive decision-making and personal growth. Since founding Alive & Well Teens in 2008, she has remained passionate about empowering teens to recognize their value, overcome challenges, and build a healthy future. Copies of the organizational newsletter, Inside the Teen World, will also be available.
Instructional coaches play a vital role in strengthening teaching and learning across both Lancaster and Ossian Elementary Schools. Serving as a bridge between classroom instruction and school wide goals, the coach provides targeted, evidence-based support that directly impacts student achievement in reading.
Key roles of the instructional coaches include data-driven instruction, instructional improvement, professional learning, consistency across schools, support for tiered interventions, and curriculum alignment.
Lancaster & Ossian Elementaries have come together to increase reading scores through shared instructional strategy, collaborative data teams, common assessments, joint professional development, intervention alignment, resource sharing, collective goals.
About Rotary
Ossian Rotary is a small part of a larger organization, Rotary International, which was founded over 120 years ago in Chicago. Ossian Rotary is a local group of people with a desire to meet new people, network, get involved and make a difference in Ossian and the surrounding community. We have different speakers, usually business experts, political and civic leaders, and entrepreneurs, who help us stay informed on topics that are relevant to our community. Everyone is welcome to attend Ossian Rotary meetings.
