After 30 incredible years, we announce that for everything there is a season, and for every season there comes an end. 🍄❤️
It’s hard to put into words what this event has meant to our family and this community. What started as a simple passion for the outdoors and morel mushrooms grew into something far beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Year after year, we watched a small-town tradition become a beloved gathering for so many people near and far.
From the very beginning, the festival was never just about competition. It was about getting people outside, bringing families together in nature, sharing the excitement of the hunt, and passing along a love and appreciation for morel mushrooms and the outdoors. The friendly competition was simply the fun that came along with it.
As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end — and after 30 years, this feels like the right time. We want to leave on the note it was always intended to be: a celebration of community, nature, tradition, and shared passion.
To every sponsor, hunter, vendor, volunteer, patron, and supporter who helped carry this festival through the years, thank you. Your enthusiasm, generosity, stories, laughter, and loyalty are what kept this event alive for three decades. This day would never have become what it did without all of you.
While this chapter for us is coming to a close, the impact it has had on our lives will remain forever. We will carry the memories, traditions, and love from these past 30 years with us always.
It is with deep appreciation, gratitude, and love that we say goodbye.
Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm.
Thank you for showing up year after year.
Thank you for making the Great Mushroom Hunt everything it became. 🍄❤️
With gratitude,
The Shroom Crew
