nd business issues and address the betterment of their communities and the world. After contacting similar groups around the United States, an organizational meeting was held on June 7, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The new group took the name of one of the invited groups, the "Association of Lions Clubs," and a national convention was held in Dallas, Texas, USA in October of that year. Within three years, Lions became an international organization. Since then, we've earned high marks for both integrity and transparency. We're a well-run organization with a steady vision, a clear mission, and a long – and proud – history.

🍔🌭 What a day at the Car Show Food Tent! 🌭🍔

From the sizzle of burgers on the grill to the smiles at every serving station, this year's event was pure community magic.

Our incredible volunteers showed up with their whole hearts — grilling, serving, welcoming neighbors, and making every guest feel like family. Whether you were flipping patties in the heat, assembling the perfect dog, or greeting hungry car show enthusiasts with a warm smile, you made this event unforgettable.

And to everyone who stopped by for a juicy burger or classic hot dog — thank you for fueling our mission!

We are excited to welcome one of the youngest members inducted into the Osseo Lions today. 🎉 Even though she became an official member at only 18 years old, Lion Lillian Troska is no stranger to stewardship and volunteerism.

Lillian joined the Girl Scouts in grade school and remained with the organization through high school. She also began volunteering regularly alongside her parents in a limited capacity at a variety of Osseo Lions-hosted events like our Halloween event, Pancake Breakfast, and our famous Lions Roar. But it was in 2021, her first year of high school, that she was baptized into the extreme, multi-day, multi-segment fundraising and community service event. You can see the result of her efforts after the end of her first year volunteering. 🥱

As she continued to define herself in high school and set her eyes on her future college and career goals, Lillan also continued to develop her Girl Scout talents in communication and sales persuasion, her musical and artistic talents, and launched a small Family Cottage Foods business.

She continued volunteering for the Osseo Lions Club during this time, as well as for a local animal protection-based nonprofit, Inspire & Flourish, and worked with her family to raise food donations for The Food Group, based in New Hope, MN. 🤗

Lillian, now in college and pursuing a career in animal science in neighboring Wisconsin, decided this year to take the next step and officially become an Osseo Lions member.

On Saturday, April 25 (2026), Lillian participated with over 30 other new Lions members at the MD5M Lions Multiple District Convention to participate in the Worldwide Induction Day (WWID) ceremony, where Lions International President, A.P. Singh, welcomed them all into the Lions and a dedicated life of service.

As amazing as that experience was to be a part of (and witnessed by a handful of other Lion members), the club is excitedly awaiting one of our pillar members, Lion Larry Lindquist, to do the 'official' swearing-in at the club level, as this is a long-standing tradition.

We cannot wait to see how Lillian and other young, dedicated members like her help shape our Osseo Lions Club in the coming years.
