⭐️ Senior and 2-Time Captain, Spotlight ⭐️

Gabi DeLeo

Most memorable experience: My most memorable Sarasota Crew experience is the 12 hours bus ride to Georgia my sophomore year. My friends and I made a 13 minute long video of random content from the trip, and it was such a fun but slightly painful experience.

What she will miss most: I will miss my friends and all the memories we have created together the most.

Lesson learned from Crew: Crew has taught me self discipline, and how to be a strong leader. I learned how important it is to keep going no matter what obstacles are thrown in your path.

⭐️ Senior (Captain) Spotlight ⭐️

Eli Ward

Most memorable experience: Freshman year, when six seat's oar shot out of the water, and Hugo exclaimed, "You were just attacked by a manatee!"

What he will miss most: I will by far miss the people the most. I get to work with amazing people every day, and I am lucky to call this place a second home.

Lesson learned from Crew: That success does not come from a race result, but from the ability to be one step better than the day before.

⭐️ Senior Spotlight ⭐️

Sofia Yu

Most memorable experience: When we stayed at an abandoned church in the middle of nowhere after our bus broke down on the way to Regionals at Lake Lanier, GA.

What she will miss most: I will miss eating at Blaze in between Nationals double practice and the 2am Waffle House runs before 3am departure at New Site.

Lesson learned from Crew: Crew has taught me the crucial life lesson of losing, getting right back up, and being hungry for the next step.

Next stop: Wellesley College

⭐️ Senior Spotlight ⭐️

William Warren

Most memorable experience: Hugo telling me that we are rowing another lap around Benderson after he promised we would do just one more.

What he will miss most: The team culture of pushing hard not for yourself but for the boys, for your team.

Lesson learned from Crew: That you can do it. That if you dig deep enough inside then anything is possible. That there exists a bigger goal than the present pain and that if you push past it, then anything is possible.

⭐️ Senior Spotlight ⭐️

Dylan Vu

Most memorable experience: Hugging the boys after winning the U17 8+ at Youth Nationals.

What he will miss most: I will miss winning, losing, cheering, suffering, sweating, bleeding, trailer loading, racing, lifting, laughing, and smiling with all my teammates.

Lesson learned from Crew: Crew has taught me to fail. Failures are not a step backwards in the process but rather an offered lesson that, when accepted, can propel you two steps forward. Enjoy and learn from your failures.
