The Mahaska County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is looking to fill a 3-year Water Quality Technician position for the watershed project in the South Skunk and Cedar Creek Watershed. This position will be based out of the Mahaska County SWCD office in Oskaloosa. However, the technician will also be assisting with projects in Marion and Jasper Counties. Water Quality Technicians provide technical assistance to the SWCD in the areas of inventory and evaluation, layout, survey, design, and inspection of construction of Water Quality/Edge-of-Field Practices identified in the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. Technical Assistance for other Soil and Water Conservation Practices will be needed from time to time in a diminished role.

As a full-time, temporary Soil & Water Conservation District employee, benefits include: 9 paid holidays, 8.6 hours of PTO per pay period, and IPERS.
