Our fishing clinics can be customized for your group based on your requirements and amount of time for the event. Captain Greg will work with you group. In 2014, ‘Fishing Basics’ received two awards for the education and outreach of fishing and preventing the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species. The awards were presented by Wildlife Forever and the State Of Wisconsin. Why is our site named ‘Learn 2 Fish With Us’? Together through the partnership of our sponsors and our Angler Educators, ‘US’, we are here to help educate and inspire new and experienced anglers to fishing. Learn 2 Fish With Us recently hosted a Bike and Fish opportunity at Delaware State Park with volunteer and board member Mark Moran and volunteer Bethany Blumenshein.

The day began with a 5-mile bike ride along the scenic trails winding through the campground before participants gathered for a Fishing Basics seminar. During the seminar, youth learned the skills, techniques, and equipment needed to successfully target catfish—one of Ohio’s most popular fish species.

After the educational session, it was time to put those new skills into action. Participants learned about the different species of catfish as they were caught and reeled in throughout the day. For several youth, the goal was simple: catch their first catfish. Thanks to their determination and the guidance of our volunteers, that goal became a reality!

The group started fishing at the youth pond before exploring additional shoreline locations. The best action was found along the lower portion of the dam, where anglers enjoyed steady success and created memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors who made this event possible by providing fishing combos, shirts, and fishing educational books. Your generosity continues to help Learn 2 Fish With Us introduce the next generation to the great sport of fishing while creating positive outdoor experiences for youth and families.

Learn 2 Fish With Us Celebrates 525th Fishing Program!

Today, Captain Greg and Learn 2 Fish With Us proudly hosted our 525th Fishing Program, serving the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from across the De Pere area. The event was held at the beautiful Isaac Walton League of Brown County and brought together scouts, families, and volunteers for a day of fishing education and fun.

This milestone event marked the third Fishing Program hosted this week, with Captain Greg traveling nearly 400 miles to provide fishing education and opportunities to youth and families throughout Wisconsin.

The program began with a Fishing Basics Seminar, where scouts and their families learned the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. Topics included fishing equipment, casting, knots, bait selection, fish identification, and fishing safety. After the educational portion, participants headed to the water to put their new knowledge into practice. While fishing was a little slow, several smaller bluegills were caught, providing excitement and hands-on experience for the youth anglers.

To help continue their fishing journey, each scout received a fully rigged fishing combo and a detailed fishing education book to take home. These resources will allow them to continue practicing the skills they learned and encourage a lifelong passion for fishing and the outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our 525th Fishing Program another successful step in our mission to grow the sport of fishing by educating and inspiring beginner and experienced anglers. We look forward to many more programs and introducing thousands more youth and families to the great sport of fishing! 🎣🐟

Boy did we catch some BIG Bass today during our Green Lake community Fishing Program we hosted!! Huge shoot out to Learn 2 Fish With Us Volunteers and the Green Lake Fishing page where I had 5 additional volunteers in less than 24 hours!!

Today, Learn 2 Fish With Us hosted a Fishing Program for the Green Lake community at the Town Square Community Center. Despite a cloudy start to the day, families and youth were excited to attend and learn more about the sport of fishing.
The morning began with a Fishing Basics seminar where participants learned the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. Youth were introduced to fishing rods and reels, tackle selection, fish identification, casting techniques, and other important fundamentals that help build confidence on the water.
To help continue their fishing journey, each youth received a fully rigged fishing combo, a Learn 2 Fish With Us Certified Youth Angler shirt, and a fishing education book. These resources provide young anglers with the tools and knowledge needed to continue fishing with family and friends long after the program ends.
Following the educational portion of the event, participants walked to a nearby bay on Green Lake to put their newly learned skills into action. The fishing was productive, with youth catching both bass and bluegills throughout the outing. Smiles, excitement, and plenty of fish made for a memorable experience for everyone involved.
A special thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who helped make the event both fun and safe for the youth and families in attendance. Their willingness to share their time and assist young anglers played a major role in the success of the program. Last week, Captain Greg made a post on a Green Lake community page seeking volunteers for the event. In less than 24 hours, five volunteers stepped forward to help. The overwhelming community support demonstrates how passionate local residents are about helping introduce the next generation to the outdoors.
Programs like these continue to fulfill the mission of Learn 2 Fish With Us by introducing youth and families to fishing while providing the education and equipment necessary for long-term success in the outdoors.

With this being Wisconsin's Free Fishing Weekend, you know that Learn 2 Fish With Us had to be hosting an event somewhere in Wisconsin!

Today we were in Wausau, Wisconsin, at Bluegill Bay, where we partnered with the Wausau & Marathon County Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department to host a youth and family fishing program.

The event began with a Fishing Basics seminar where attendees learned the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. Youth then rotated through hands-on fishing education stations that included casting, knot tying, fish identification, and how to rig a fishing combo and properly put bait on a hook.

After completing the stations, it was time to hit the water! While the bite was tough, many youth still caught their very first fish, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors who made this event possible by providing fishing combos, shirts, fishing educational books, and bait that each youth received. Your support continues to help us introduce the next generation to the great sport of fishing!
