On Friday, May 3rd, 2024 our community will come together to celebrate and support career and technical education (CTE) in the Oshkosh Area School District. You are cordially invited to attend the 2024 OASD Education Foundation Fundraising Gala! Themed Derby Day, the gala will be an evening of celebration, featuring student culinary creations, fashion feats, woodworking wonders, and much more! Your participation will directly benefit CTE students, staff, and programs, ensuring they have the resources they need for success.

Date: Friday, May 3, 2024

Time: 6 p.m. Doors Open • 6:30 p.m. Welcome • 9 p.m. Home Stretch (student showcases, mingling, hors d'oeuvres buffet, student-created dessert bar, cash bar ongoing)

Location: The Waters (building rental provided as a donation by The Waters)

Price: $100 per person (with the support of generous donors tickets to the Gala are 100% tax-deductible)

Don't miss your opportunity to see the Oshkosh School Board candidates at the League of Women Voters candidate forum!

The forum is co-sponsored by Oshkosh Media. Oshkosh Media will broadcast the forum live, with replay on Oshkosh Media TV several times prior to he primary election on February 15. Viewers without cable can watch on the Oshkosh Media channel on Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV. 👀Have You Heard? Six Candidates have turned in papers for Oshkosh School Board, so there will be a Spring Primary on Tuesday, February 15th!👀

There are 2 positions open this spring with Carlin and Szilagyi both up: you will be able to vote for up to 2 at the primary.

We celebrate the fact so many Community members have stepped up to run for school board. We hope this trend continues so that the days of uncontested elections are long gone and the Community has more of a say in their representatives. Please take a look their pages. It will be very important for Community members to vote on February 15th AND April 5th. Who are the right candidates for you?

If you are happy with today's email about the direction OASD appears to be going in for th e next school year and agree with their game plan, please consider sending a "thank you" to those who made the decision. In a recent Oshkosh Northwestern article, Dr. Davis stated that the policy change doesn't need approval from the school board and will not be discussed during the next board meeting, Davis said. That would lead us to believe it was a decision made by the Executive Administration with input likely coming from administrators, etc. If you are writing a letter of thanks, we might suggest you enter "Thank you" as the subject so they may w**d your complimentary email from any upset with the policy.

Side note: Why on earth is Stephanie Carlin so concerned with wiping the table?!?!? And Barb Herzog's response......geesh....."it is an airborne virus." Come on.....you didn't care about that when you guys decided our educators had to turn into cleaning personal and over-cleaning everything while in person!! But NOW you are an expert on the virus?!?!

Mark Lasky!! (Mark, why are you not on SOS) ! Spoke about neighboring school districts that are MASK OPTIONAL and the economic impact. FACT!!!!

Amy Lueck Schwab !! Smiling faces 🙂 and how the board should have to wear masks all day if they make the kids. Yes!!!

Jacqueline Steiner !!! Freedom to breathe! She pulled 3 students from the district! Appalled by the lack of discretion by those making these decisions!! FEAR! Include parents in decision making about masking!!!!!!!!! Parents have a right in children's health!! Sky rocketing mental health cases a direct result of masking!! Hugs to Jacqueline....😔 Parents are going to go elsewhere.

Matthew Tooke?? Are you on SOS??? Anxiety, dirty masks, respiratory issues. Board members should wear masks in unity with our children doing so.

KUDOS to all those educators speaking tonight regarding the middle school principal for the "super middle school." Hugs, especially to those speaking who were emotional. We feel it, too. We love hearing from people IN THE DISTRICT!!! OASD has earned the right to demand TRUST in their district!!!
