WOW .. this summer is flying by faster than a non-rev running to an open seat 😩

We’ve been a little quiet over here, but we’ve also been busy brainstorming some fun ideas for y’all

We’ve heard the OSH sticker requests loud & clear 🫡

BUT as we work on getting the Lady Aviators Etsy shop back up and running, we want to know what YOU actually want to see from us.

LAOTW ✨ Elliette St John ✨

Hi!! My name is Elliette!
I started training at 18 years old in August of 2024 and since then I’ve become a multi-engine rated commercial pilot and a CFI/CFII.

I began this journey for one reason only- my dad. He’s a captain for Southwest Airlines, and it’s my dream to one day be his first officer. He was there for my discovery flight (crammed in the backseat of a Cessna 172😂) and I can’t wait to one day sit next to him in the cockpit!

Currently, I’m on the hunt for a flight instructing job so I can make that dream come true.

If I could give one piece of advice- it would be to become your most confident self. It may sound simple, but too often, the only thing standing between us and our goals is the fear of failure. Don’t let fear decide what you’re capable of.

My journey into aviation didn’t begin with airplanes—it began with a passion for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). After graduating, I spent two years inspecting natural gas pipelines, where I learned the value of precision, integrity, and the responsibility that comes with ensuring safety.
Everything changed when I started working for a FAA Part 145 repair station. From my very first day, I knew I had found where I belonged. Aviation inspired me and gave my work an even deeper purpose.
Whenever the NDT department slowed down and other shops needed an extra set of hands, I was always willing to step in. Whether it was helping airframe, avionics install, or the landing gear shop, I embraced every opportunity to learn more about the aircraft from the inside out. Those experiences gave me the hands-on experience I needed to earn my Airframe rating in 2023 and deepened my appreciation for the teamwork that aviation demands.
In February 2025, I took the leap and founded my own NDT company. My mission is simple: to provide inspections performed with honesty, precision, and unwavering integrity. Every inspection represents someone’s trust, and I never take that responsibility lightly. I genuinely care about the safety of every aircraft I inspect and strive to deliver work that reflects the highest standards of our industry.
For women considering a career in aviation, my advice is simple: remain curious and never stop learning. Some of the most valuable opportunities in my career came from being willing to step outside my immediate role and learn from those around me. Aviation is an industry that rewards competence, humility, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Focus on building your knowledge, earning trust through your work, and maintaining your integrity. The rest tends to follow.

LAOTW Ally Dormois 💘

Hi! My name is Ally!
Becoming a pilot was never in my plans. During undergrad, I studied Biology and Spanish with plans to work in healthcare. My first time on a plane, I was 17 years old, flying to Colombia. From there, I fell in love with travel and learning more about the world. I ended up visiting 15 countries.
Even then, I didn’t consider aviation a career path for me until a childhood friend started flight school and encouraged me to take a discovery flight. From that very first flight, something clicked immediately. I knew this was the path I wanted to pursue.
I am currently preparing for my commercial checkride, with plans to become a CFI and the dream of one day flying for the airlines. Each stage of training has challenged me in different ways, but it has also been incredibly rewarding and has shown me what I’m capable of when I stay consistent.
My favorite part of aviation so far has been the community and friendships it has given me. I didn’t expect to find such a supportive and inspiring group of people, and it has truly been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.
