LAOTW Chayle 🧡

I never expected aviation to become such a big part of my life, but stepping into the cockpit changed everything ✈️🩷 It was something I did on a whim, because I initially wanted to be a fighter pilot in the air force. I’m currently working on competing for a slot in the Arizona Army National Guard!

I have my Private Pilot Certificate, recently earned my Instrument Rating, and I’m working toward my Commercial!

I’m also a dancer, singer, and creative, and I’ve learned I don’t have to choose between passions—I can be all of them!

My goal is to keep growing as a pilot and inspire other women to go after what feels out of reach! Women really can do it all and be anything!

Advice: start before you feel ready. You’ll learn as you go, and you will never feel 100% ready for anything.

I’m honored to be nominated as Lady Aviator of the Week and proud to be part of this community 🩷✈️

LAOTW aspen m 🩵

I’m now working toward my Commercial ASEL while attending Cal Poly SLO for Agricultural Business. A week after graduating, my parents and I bought a 1964 Cherokee 180 so I’m just trying enjoy the process and build time :)
I’m incredibly grateful for the mentors and people who believe in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. I was raised to be a strong, independent woman, and I feel like I’m living true to that. My dream is to fly a PC-12 commercially, and long-term, I’d love to fly for a major airline such as Delta or Alaska.

My advice to future Lady Aviators: put yourself out there, talk to people, network, and treat everyone with respect. Join organizations like the Ninety-Nines, WAI, AOPA, and EAA. Some of my biggest opportunities came from simply reaching out! You don’t need it all figured out. Take it one flight, one goal, and one opportunity at a time.

LAOTW 💫 Samantha Walsh 💫

Hi! My name is Sam Walsh! I never thought about a career in aviation until I was given a free discovery flight through EAA young eagles right before I turned 18. Their volunteer work along with preflight camp has changed the trajectory of my life and I could not be more grateful for the mentors and role models I’ve met along the way! I started flight training in 2024 and I am currently finishing up my commercial training. My dream job is to work for a fixed wing medevac company and help transport patients to higher levels of care.

While I work towards that goal I am a dispatch technician for the Aims flight program, I am our schools flight team (NIFA) captain, and I love to volunteer with Preflight camp and EAA events on the side. I also hope to be a CFI in the near future and continue to grow my passion for teaching. The aviation community is unlike anything I’ve experienced, I’ve met so many inspiring individuals and hope that someday I can inspire others the same way they have inspired me ✈️ 💛

LAOTW Tanyaaa Yadavvv 🎉

I’m Tanya Yadav, a CFII, Commercial Pilot, and Advanced Ground Instructor based in South Florida — and a first-generation aviator, which still feels wild to say.
I started flight training back in 2018 at a small flight school in Merritt Island, Florida, with zero aviation background in my family. Every step since then — private, instrument, commercial, CFI, CFII — has been a first for someone in my family, and that’s shaped how seriously I take mentorship now.
I earned my B.S. in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle in 2025, Cum Laude. Today I instruct at 141 flight school here in South Florida, teaching everything from first solos to instrument students, and I’ve crossed 1000 hours total time, including multi-engine in the Piper Seneca.

Right now I’m chasing my MEI rating and working through ATP-CTP requirements, building toward ATP minimums. Long-term, my goal is cargo aviation — flying charter operations. It’s not the most talked-about path in aviation, but it’s the one that lights me up.
I’m active with the Ninety-Nines, Women in Aviation International, ISA+21, and SAFE, and I’ve volunteered at outreach events introducing girls and young women to aviation for the first time — because someone did that for me once, and I haven’t forgotten it.
My advice to future Lady Aviators: don’t wait until you feel “ready enough.” I failed checkrides on my way here — and every single one taught me something that made me a better, safer pilot. The setbacks aren’t the story. Showing back up is.

WOW .. this summer is flying by faster than a non-rev running to an open seat 😩

We’ve been a little quiet over here, but we’ve also been busy brainstorming some fun ideas for y’all

LAOTW ✨ Elliette St John ✨

Hi!! My name is Elliette!
I started training at 18 years old in August of 2024 and since then I’ve become a multi-engine rated commercial pilot and a CFI/CFII.

I began this journey for one reason only- my dad. He’s a captain for Southwest Airlines, and it’s my dream to one day be his first officer. He was there for my discovery flight (crammed in the backseat of a Cessna 172😂) and I can’t wait to one day sit next to him in the cockpit!

Currently, I’m on the hunt for a flight instructing job so I can make that dream come true.

If I could give one piece of advice- it would be to become your most confident self. It may sound simple, but too often, the only thing standing between us and our goals is the fear of failure. Don’t let fear decide what you’re capable of.
