Hunter & Minta Memorial, Ripley Co Community Christmas Dinner Inc. This meal was started in 1984 by Father John Minta and Mrs. Dova Hunter from St. John’s Catholic Church.

They began providing a hot meal to those in our community who are less fortunate or alone on Christmas Day. This meal was started in 1984 by Father John Minta & Dova Hunter of St. John’s Catholic Church located at 331 S Buckeye St, Osgood, IN. Between 1984 and 2006 it was run by many different members of St. Amber (Wilson)Von Handorf took over coordinating it from 2006 to 2010. In 2011 Keri Johnso

n took over and as of December 16, 2014 it became a 501.3c Non-Profit know known as the Hunter & Minta Memorial Ripley County Community Christmas Dinner Inc. This meal serves those residents that reside inside Ripley County who are alone or in need on Christmas Day with a warm ,healthy, home cooked meal. Our meal general consists of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dressing, homemade bread, pie and a drink.

Merry Christmas and thank you to the many hands that made the Hunter & Minta Memorial, Ripley Co Community Christmas Dinner Inc. possible again this year! We could not do this without the support of the businesses and individuals who support us with financial donations, physical donations of items we use and of course the volunteers who come together on Christmas Day to serve and deliver these meals! It is truly a GREAT group to work with! From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU ALL!!

So today the preparations began. I was at the church from 9a-5:30p (will be back later to slice turkey after it completely cooled) Baked 8 pies, sliced and boxed 16 pies, cooked 60 lbs of turkeys, checked in the 20 loaves of bread that were pulled apart Saturday to start drying out for dressing. Prepped the totes for deivets with their route sheets. Tomorrow is bagging up bread:butter and slow baking of the green beans along wit decorating thr hall. 3 more days before it all takes place!

Our deadline to order a meal to be delivered, carry out or dine in was December 14th at 5pm. Unfortunately we are unable to accept meal request after this date.

Please be sure to keep our number handy for 2026 and you can call and request a meal beginning November 29th. Please no calls before 7am or after 7pm. Phone number bear to call for 2026 meals, donations or volunteering is 812-689-3322, email [email protected] or message us through our page.
