The funding for the Playground Equipment is almost complete! The equipment has been installed and the final payment will be made next month. Thanks to this wonderful community for making this all possible. Your generous donations made this happen. As of Year End we only need to raise about $3,500 to fully fund this project.

The Optimist Playground Equipment Project is nearly finished! Just a few more things to get done - retaining wall behind swing, ADA compliant entrance, hang the bridge between the two pieces, move the dinosaur and install. Grand Opening will be Easter Weekend at the Easter Egg Hunt.

WE ARE REALLY, REALLY CLOSE!!!! We just had a $5,000 donation this morning that puts us within about $8,000 of reaching our goal. Don't give up just yet. With just a little more effort we can reach our goal. The equipment has been ordered and will be delivered and installed in a few weeks. End of month update on the Optimist Park Fundraising project. We have had a great month! The challenge a donor made to the community to "raise as much as we could and he would match up to $10,000" was met with nearly $24,000 was raised between June 15 and July 15. The donor has presented a $5,000 check with another $5,000 coming! We are in the home stretch now with only about $25,000 needing to be raised. Lets keep up the great work and we should be able to push it over the top!!

Update on Optimist Park Donations as of 6-15-2018

The Optimists have been given a great opportunity to raise money for the Optimist Park Playground Improvement project. A local donor has issued a challenge to the community to raise as much money as possible within the next month. He/she has agreed to match all donations received between June 15th and July 15th, up to $5,000 and could go to $10,000 if necessary. As of June 15th, the total needed to be raised is a little more than $60,000, so this would go a long way to bringing that figure down. If you are planning on donating to the project, do so now and your donation will be doubled. You can send you tax deductible donation to the Osceola Optimist Foundation, P O Box 471, Osceola, MO 64776. The Osceola Optimist Foundation is a 501c3 charity and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

This is a status report on funds raised as of May 31, 2018. The total cost of the Optimist Park Playground Equipment is approximately $149,000. By April 30, 2018 approximately $75,000 had been secured leaving the $74,000 needed to raise. By May 31, 2018 we had received donations that brought our money secured for the project up to just under $85,000. Thanks to all that have donated! Together we will get this project done!!

By April 30, 2018 approximately $75,000 had been secured leaving the $74,000 needed to raise. By May 15, 2018 we had received donations that brought our money secured for the project up to approx. $82,000. Thanks to all that have donated! Together we will get this project done!!
