With the rain I am sure there will be questions on burn permits. Please understand that we are in continuous burn ban that goes beyond our control until April 10th. Our entire state is in unprecedented conditions as far as fire danger, to the point that we have wildland task forces station across our state (even one stationed in Columbus). Please be kind and understand when we tell you we cannot give permits. Hopefully we will continue to get rain and return to normal. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

With this morning's fog conditions, I had a patron that was driving to work that noticed the amount of vehicles that were just relying on their driving lights. Please remember to turn lights on manually as your driving lights to not activate taillights. You may think with your automatic or driving lights you are visible. Fact is most automobiles taillights do not turn on in lighted conditions running risk of rear collisions. Please drive safe and share with your loved ones especially new drivers in your family and friend circle. Info that may prevent a rear end collision and save a life.

Gov. Jim Pillen signed an executive order Wednesday afternoon to suspend all burn permits due to extremely dry conditions.

Tuesday December 17th Osceola Fire and Rescue will be hosting a CO2 First Responder Training at the Osceola Fire Station. This training is open to any emergency first responder and will start at 6:30 at the station. **After the live auction items are auctioned off we are going to offer a blue sky auction - increments of $5,000 - $2,500 - $1,000 and $500.
**All donations should be made payable to the Butler County Mutual Aid
**We currently have matching funds committed from Butler County Area Foundation for $6,000 and Frontier Co-op another $2,000 after January 2025.

Any firefighters taking part of Chief Al Willits Funeral meet at Osceola Fire Station by 9 am Thursday morning. Please let Chief Watts know asap how many apparatus and members will be attending. We will brief members and then leave for St. Paul Lutheran Church from there. Funeral service is at 10. This is open to any current or past firefighters. If you are at service and when dismissed for Sea of Blue you are encouraged to participate. You can contact Chief Watts @ 402-366-9850 with any questions.
