Sometimes the greatest community impact starts with a conversation.

Earlier this year, OCCF brought Trooper Ben to Osborne for a community program that drew positive feedback from attendees of all ages. The event provided an opportunity to learn, connect, and engage with a nationally recognized speaker right here in Osborne County.

The success of that event has sparked an important question: What if we could bring more opportunities like this to Osborne County?

If lifelong learning, leadership development, and bringing new ideas to rural Kansas are causes you're passionate about, we'd love to visit with you. Together, we can create opportunities that inspire conversations, strengthen communities, and enrich the quality of life throughout Osborne County.

💙 That's what the Summer of Giving is all about—investing in ideas that help our communities grow stronger together.

Homestead Nutrition Project has driver coverage through the end of summer, but after that our meal delivery program at the Senior Center is at risk of closing if we can't fill this important role. One person, a team, or even multiple groups can share the responsibility—as long as each delivery day is covered. Please consider helping continue serving local seniors.

Our meal delivery program provides more than food. For many of our seniors, it offers a friendly face, a safety check, and a connection to the community.

By helping deliver meals, you're delivering nourishment, connection, independence, and care. Please consider helping us keep this life-giving program on the road.

Have you noticed the beautiful flowers outside the Osborne City Office?

These planters were gifted by the Osborne County Community Foundation to the City of Osborne last December as part of our Your Idea, Our Gift campaign. Today, they are filled with vibrant flowers that help create a welcoming entrance while complementing the planters found throughout downtown.

Community beautification projects may be simple, but their impact is significant. Attractive public spaces help create a positive first impression for visitors, foster community pride, and contribute to the quality of life that makes our communities special places to call home.

We're pleased to see these planters serving their intended purpose and adding another touch of color and beauty to downtown Osborne.

🚲 Happy World Bicycle Day! 🚲

Today also kicks off OCCF's Summer of Giving story series, where we'll spend the summer highlighting projects, programs, and partnerships that are making a difference across Osborne County.

Sometimes the impact of a grant can be measured in dollars. Other times, it's measured in miles traveled, memories made, and time spent outdoors.

Over the years, the Osborne County Community Foundation has been proud to support improvements at Shady Bend Trails along the South Solomon River in Osborne. From trail signage to amenities that make the experience more enjoyable, these investments help create a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike.

Recently, Matt Plush of Oak Harbor, Washington, an avid cyclist visiting the area, spent time riding the trails at Shady Bend. After experiencing the trail system firsthand, he described the routes as "challenging"—a compliment that speaks to the unique terrain and recreational opportunities available right here in Osborne County.

Today, as we celebrate World Bicycle Day, we're reminded that community impact isn't always found inside four walls. Sometimes it's found on a trail, along a riverbank, or during a bike ride with family and friends.

If biking, trails, outdoor recreation, and access to nature are causes you're passionate about, we'd love to visit with you about how you can help grow and sustain these opportunities in our communities. Together, we can continue investing in projects that enhance quality of life and make Osborne County an even better place to live, work, and play. 🌳💙
