We have had a very busy week, and have helped in places where a county animal shelter should be helping, 3 motherless litters in the past 2 days with bad upper respiratory problems requiring vet care. Cats injured, kittens dumped and rescued by caring citizens needing formula etc. We have lots of extra Vet and Medical expense this week. Phone calls, in person, emails, texts Trips to vets, help with supplies like bottles, formula, food, picking up cats hit by cars…no animal shelter in county, no where to go with these kittens that are sick or injured. We try our best to help but we are stretched thin! We are all volunteer, every one of us unpaid and working harder than ever…it all adds up. This week has been expensive. We are a small town on a tight budget and helping a whole county with no animal shelter. Today we need to ask for donations to continue to help. The photos are stock photos… we didn’t take pictures of these sick kittens but this is to show you what they look like. They can’t breathe or see without our help. And it requires some special eye drops etc….Please if you can throw in 5-10 or 20 dollars. It helps reduce disease and helps save these kittens.

Update … we have found a good surrogate candidate…. But if you are willing to be caretaker to a surrogate momma kitty, Please comment. We are often needing surrogate moms and so do our partner groups. Being a hero to needy kittens is a very fulfilling and heroic act. Thank you kind family…You are the Angels these babies needed. 💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️ Melvern area. We are looking for either a momma kitty feeding 2 1/2 week to 3 week old kittens. Or for someone who is an accomplished bottle feeder. We will help you with supplies. A lady in Melvern is needing your help. There are 3 kittens. If you have a momma cat with 3 or less kittens of the same age, please consider letting her be a surrogate mom to these babies. Thank you all. Comment or message here.

We are currently working with multiple litters in the area, and this particular group of kittens is quite exceptional. Having been raised outdoors by their mothers, they are nonetheless social and either already litter trained or in the process of being trained. This adaptability makes them ideal candidates to transition into a domestic environment and become beloved pets. Given the absence of an animal shelter in Osage County and that local foster organizations are currently full, we are offering a special deal to adopters of these kittens residing in the area. The kittens will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated at our expense, and they will undergo a veterinary examination to ensure their health. The current caregivers retain decision-making authority regarding adoption. There are numerous kittens living in colonies that require homes, and we are committed to facilitating adoptions. By welcoming these kittens into your home, you will be saving their lives. We will use all available resources we have to secure a safe and fulfilling life for these kittens and others like them. Additional information on other outdoor kittens that are socialized but not litter trained can be found in our first comment, making them suitable for those seeking friendly barn cats. Please have your outdoor cats spayed/neutered as well. and Osage City Area Community Foundation

Update! ⬅️‼️ This little tiger has found the most perfect home. ⬅️‼️❤️Behold this sweeeetest of a kittens! Nearly ready to eat from a plate. Are you envisioning a new furry friend joining your family? Perhaps the first love of your life? Meet Annie, a 4-week-old bundle of joy rescued from a farm field, where she relied on a shed for shelter. She was all alone there. Fortunately, a heroic caretaker has been nurturing her with lots love and bottle feeding her despite struggling with severe cat allergies. Though she would love to keep her she needs to find Annie a home. Julie's fund is delighted to sponsor this little firecracker for a forever home, covering her veterinary expenses, including shots and spaying with local vets, ensuring she receives the best start in life. You'll reap the rewards of having a healthy, thriving kitten, and as a token of gratitude, Julie's fund kindly requests a 10% donation to help continue their mission. Your investment in Annie's happiness would be a mere $20-$30, leaving you plenty to spoil her with quality kitten food! Whether or not you require support, we'd be delighted to connect you with Annie's rescuer.

How does one sum up a life when only pieces of it are left? She was only about 1 year old. She was underweight at 4 lbs, had recently had babies. The babies were probably weaned for awhile because there was no more milk. She was starving, she had probably been hit by a car, as her pelvis was broken at the hips. She had no microchip. She was found near Osage Cemetery, was scared, in pain , taken to the very kind and caring Emergency Animal Clinic of Topeka, found to have irreperable injuries. At the clinic she seemed to know this was help. She was fed ….finally some food! Comforted, held and stroked talked to, and loved briefly then finally relieved of her pain forever as she went to her last sleep. She will rest forever in a bed of roses with other kitties too often left behind , This little girl was finally seen by the human who cared enough to stop. We gave her the name Tot for the kind gentleman who did just that…. Stopped.

This is part of what Osage City Area Community Foundation helps us do. When two kittens were rescued from Eisenhower state park and brought to us. They had some ringworm on them. What you see glowing green are the fungal spores under a special black light. The second picture is some examples of what ringworm can do. Ike and Mike are brothers, the sweetest of kittens being nurtured and treated lovingly by our member who works in the veterinary field. It won’t be long and they will be fully recovered and ready to journey on. From Dumped and forgotten to downright Presidential. That’s the power of support from our community. And Osage City Area Community Foundation.
