For more than a decade, the Lake of the Ozarks Stop Human Trafficking Coalition has worked to raise awareness, educate our communities, and support survivors of human trafficking. Now, we're taking the next step toward a bigger vision—a safe, long-term recovery facility where survivors can heal, rebuild, and thrive.

We are currently seeking:

✅ A donation of 30 or more acres of land to establish a future rehabilitation campus.

✅ Office space that is accessible (no stairs required) and large enough to accommodate meetings and coalition activities.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, qualifying donations may be tax-deductible.

Every survivor deserves a safe place, a fresh start, and the opportunity for a better future. Together, we can create the foundation that makes lasting healing possible.

💔 Lindsey Watts vanished from her Edina home one week ago tonight

Lindsey Watts, 35, was last seen at approximately 11 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at her home at 510 North 5th Street in Edina, Missouri. She had just come home from her shift at The Blessing Center. A family member saw her at the house that night. By morning she was gone. She never showed up for work on Wednesday and never called in, which her family says is completely out of character.

When the Knox County Sheriff responded to her home, they found her car, her car keys, her wallet, and her money all still inside. Her cellphone was later found in a nearby ditch. A mother does not leave her home in the middle of the night without her car, wallet, keys, phone, or money. The sheriff has called this case "very concerning" and described it as an "isolated incident." Neighbors have reported seeing a vehicle speeding through the area on the night she disappeared.

On Saturday, dozens of community members gathered at the Knox County Courthouse for a prayer vigil. Lindsey's sister made an emotional plea for her safe return. Yesterday marked exactly one week since anyone has seen or heard from Lindsey.

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we are unifying our efforts so survivors of human trafficking can be heard, responders can coordinate quickly, and our state can act with urgency and precision to protect the public.

Our office has partnered with Safe House Project to launch Simply Report statewide, giving every Missourian a modernized way to report suspected human trafficking and routing that intelligence directly to law enforcement dashboards accessible across the state.
