Through absolutely no fault of his OR his owner, our sweet old Duke is in need of a new home. He is an older boy who is fully vetted which includes a recent dental cleaning. His lab work at that time was excellent. Duke likes other friendly dogs and is just a sweet old guy looking for a place to doze in the sun and give him snuggles. A quieter home would probably be best. Please fill out an application if interested in giving this senior dog a loving home.

Pollyanna (look at those mittens) and Rumbles are both feeling much better and doing really awesome. Pollyanna is on 2 eye meds twice a day and oral antibiotics. Rumbles eye socket is healing nicely and he won’t even realize he is a one-eyed wonder. Both of these kittens would have died without being rescued by kindhearted people.

And another intake today - there is a great story behind this rescue that we will share at some point! This friendly young female is now off the streets, will get fully vetted tomorrow at Homestead, and will NOT be adding kittens to the problem! Once we realized she was a she - we did check and there are no signs she’s nursing kittens so we can safely bring her in to BSCAR.
Rescue works!❤️🐾

***UPDATE*** This sweetheart is still at Homestead Vet until tomorrow. They have named her PollyAnna and she is a full polydactyl - mittens on all 4 paws!! She is on antibiotics for a nasty respiratory infection but is doing good. We are so happy she sought out help from kind humans and was brought to us ❤️🐾
She is NOT available for adoption at this time.

HUGE THANK YOU to the JKE elementary students in Ortonville!

The kids showed their big hearts and love for animals by raising $385 for BSCAR! ❤️🐾

Every Friday during April and May, students could donate $1 to be able to wear their favorite hat to school. From baseball caps to goofy hats and everything in between, they filled the halls with fun - all for a great cause!

We tried to get a photo to share but there was just too much end of the year excitement happening.

We are so proud of these students for helping animals in need and showing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!

It’s a FABULOUS DAY! Happy Gotcha Day to our Ripley. He found his perfect forever family and we are so very happy for him and grateful. What a tragic story turned into the happiest of endings! Have the best life “Rippers” - you are so loved!
