Get your pup signed up for the Cornfest Doggie Pageant!! Time is changed this year in hopes of cooler temps. This is always a super fun event that is kept moving along quickly and the funds raised are a huge help to BSCAR! Thank you to Homestead Animal Health and The Paw Stop for sponsoring this fun event!

Could anyone foster this young male kitty so we can bring him into BSCAR. We are currently full and very short on volunteers. We’d love to get him safe. Supplies are provided and we hope to be able to move within a month or so to a rescue partner. The requests are coming in faster than we can begin to keep up. 😢 our waitlist is growing and this boy young and outside - very friendly.

Remember our “pay it forward” rescue of an injured cat in Madison? We decided to help this poor limping cat in honor of Ripley’s rescue and adoption. (Ripley was the running dog by Beardsley that had been shot in the foot and limping.) We thought Thor would be feral and released after treating his injury - but he was very friendly - and he was pretty beat up with several wounds, ear mite infestation, wood ticks etc. Well our Thor was adopted today by a wonderful young couple that drove all the way from Woodbury. Jacob had always said he wanted to rescue a friendly orange cat from this area. His aunt had a cat named Frank that he loved - she tragically passed away young from cancer - and Frank still lives with a family member. Now Jacob found his friendly orange rescue and Thor got the best ending ever after being dumped outside and surviving for two years. And it all started because of Ripley’s happy ending. I ALWAYS say we have to keep doing good things so good things continue to come our way. Today they did and we are grateful. Rescue works! ❤️🐾

This 6 yo male husky/spaniel mix is in need of a new home WITHOUT livestock, poultry or cats. If you have a home that might fit this and are interested in an outdoor dog - please comment and current owner can respond.

Due to the number of current animals in our care, the lack of foster homes, upcoming holiday and no transports scheduled - BSCAR is closed to intake at this time. The kennels are full, rescue partners are full, volunteer hours are down etc. There’s still lots of good things happening but for now, we cannot add more. Thank you for understanding.

3rd post of the day!
Our sweet old Duke found his perfect forever home this week with the nicest couple who lost their beloved beagle to old age a year ago. Again - things much bigger than us aligned to create another happy ending. It takes a kind and selfless heart to welcome a senior pet into your life - THANK YOU! ❤️🐾
