To all the wonderful people who donate or are thinking of donating to this project....THANK YOU! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your generous donations keep this project going to help bring comfort to grieving parents and dress the Angels!
I am posting this today to explain alittle more about how this process works. I have received wedding gowns, fabric, lace, ribbon, flowers, etc from all over the world, which is truly amazing to me and such a blessing. My biggest focus is getting the Angel gowns sewn and sent anywhere needed in the United States. I sew these gowns alone. I have a Friend in New York who make booties to send with gowns and a Friend locally who is helping cut out gowns so I can make them faster. Otherwise, every post, every photo, every gown, bonnet, handkerchief and baby bracelet are made by me.
Unfortunately this takes time.
A donation may be received quite some time before the box is opened, as there are times when many boxes come at a time and to keep things in order it is better not to open a box right away. Once a box is opened and the contents are photographed and posted here, it either goes in the needs to be laundered group or straight into the dismantle process. Once a gown has entered this process it no longer looks like a wedding gown. It looks like fabric and lace. Processed gowns are placed in 5 gallon bags to keep them spotlessly clean until they are cut and sewn, and are placed in large bins.
Gowns that have been processed are almost impossible to be identified at this point. So unfortunately I cannot offer to return a gown once it has been posted to this page. I do receive gowns that are not posted here as the donor prefers not to have it posted, or it is part of a large donation from a business. No gown is ever used for any purpose other than Angel gowns, and should I ever be unable to continue this work, I would pass any unused materials forward....I pray I can continue until I am a little old lady who can barely see the sewing machine.
Bless you all for your support. It is such a blessing to see that there are such wonderful people like you all who have kind and generous hearts. You make the work alittle lighter and my heart alittle happier!
