Our 10U fall team kept rolling this week with two league wins against the PLX Pirates 9-5 on Tuesday and 14-5 against the North Canton Pirates tonight to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Max Myers led the offense with 5 hits in both games driving in 5. Logan Dollar got the win Tuesday striking out 6 of the 9 batters he faced. Max Myers was on the bump Thursday and didn't give up a hit in the 2.1 innings he pitched, striking out 5 of the 7 batters he faced.

The Machine is back in action for a non league double header on Saturday against Orrville 10U.

Our 10U fall squad traveled to Bolivar to take on Mashfactory and had a busy day at the ball field, scoring 21 runs in 4 innings before game two was washed out by rain, wind, some hail, and a cavalcade of lightning.

Max Myers led the way on offense collecting four hits, scoring four runs while driving in two and Noah Krakowski added two hits and 4 RBI's in the win. Casey Knight was dominant on the mound going two innings and striking out 5 of the 6 batters he faced.

Machine Athletics is back in action at home in Marshallville this Tuesday against the PLX Pirates.

Watching yesterdays first fall game after beginning Machine Athletics in 2016 one thought kept popping into my mind (other than please catch the ball, hit the ball, etc etc).

"Big things have small beginnings."

From a small office on Liberty Street in Wooster in the summer of 2016 to our first pull tab location the progress seemed so small, and then all at once. The Orrville facility opened not even a year ago. This time last year it was a warehouse with some supplies on pallets.

From all of that to see our first travel team take the field for our inaugural game as an organization was really surreal to say the least, and this is just the first step. 2027 will see two more teams take the field.

The game itself was great. Our boys and the Spikes battled back and forth all game. The bottom of the 5th the Spikes rallied and put the tying run and go ahead run at second and third with nobody out when Ethan N. came in and struck out the side to hold the one run lead. After that our boys broke it open scoring 8 runs until the game got called for darkness and the score reverted back to 8-7.

I can't tell you where this season will go, good or bad. But for these kids and our organization, Big things have small beginnings.

9U Frank's still needs a few players to complete their roster. Playing a full SSBL season with 2-3 tournaments this team is a great first year travel experience that balances development with a more robust schedule than a rec season without an overwhelming amount of games.

9U-Franks roster is nearly complete and we need a few final pieces to round out next years team. Pitching ability is a plus but we will consider any candidate who is dedicated, loves baseball, and wants to work hard to improve themselves.
