American Legion Post 95 is helping spread the word about an important upcoming event for veterans and their families in our region.
Glenn County Health & Human Services and the Community Action Department will host the
Second Annual Glenn County Veterans Stand Down on:
📅 Wednesday, January 21, 2026
🕙 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Glenn County Fairgrounds
221 E. Yolo Street, Orland, CA
This free, one-day event is open to all veterans and their families from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. No cost. No pre-registration required.
Veterans can access a wide range of services in one welcoming location, including: • Veteran benefits information and assistance
• Health and wellness resources
• Housing and social services support
• Free haircuts for veterans
• Community organizations and service providers
• Food, giveaways, and on-site assistance
• Military vehicles and memorabilia
The Stand Down is designed to reduce barriers and provide respectful, veteran-centered support focused on dignity, gratitude, and community.

American Legion Post 95 extends our congratulations to Legion Riders Chapter 95 on an outstanding event!
Today, you proudly served 412 local kids, along with 25 children from our own Legion Rider families.

Thank you to every volunteer and supporter whose hard work, commitment, and heart made this event such a success. We’re proud of you and grateful for everything you do for our community!

Bring the family down for a warm, festive afternoon where kids can meet Santa, take free photos, and receive a special gift. 🎁📸

This is one of our favorite traditions, and we’re excited to spread some holiday cheer with our local families. ❤️

This Veterans Day, we invite all veterans to Miners Ranch Saloon for a special potluck as the community gathers to honor and celebrate your service.

6:00 PM – Presentation of checks to local organizations

8:00 PM – 50/50 drawing and basket raffles

Bring your appetite, enjoy the camaraderie, and let our community say thank you the best way they know how—together.

Behind every medal is a story of dedication and service. Today, our community celebrates legionnaires Chuck Cobb, Glen Holt, and Ricky Hunt—recognized with medals and citations for Meritorious Service. Their commitment has made a real difference, and we’re so grateful for the example they set.

Veterans, don't miss your free tri tip lunch at the VFW this Saturday at noon! for non veterans it will be a $15 donation for lunch and a kids plate will be a $5 donation. please come out and support our local veterans and the Sons of the American Legion at this great event.
