BCOE - Expanded Learning Program

BCOE - Expanded Learning Program The Butte County Office of Education's Expanded Learning Program has worked hard to design an array of theme based summer day camps for kids.

Camps are for students grades K-8. The BCOE Expanded Learning and Summer Enrichment Program serves 11 districts at 25 school sites, both after school and during the summer months. Our goals are to provide unique hands-on learning opportunities that enrich students' academic experience, encourage students' physical and mental wellness, and empower students to achieve educational and lifelong succes

We are hiring School Recreation Assistants to support after school recreation programs for grades 6–8. This position is perfect for those seeking part-time work with steady schedules and no weekend commitment.

Growing Together with UC Master Gardeners of Butte County!

On January 11th, our after school team had the privilege of attending the Living Labs School Garden Educator Training, hosted by the UC Master Gardeners of Butte County. This hands-on experience deepened our knowledge of garden-based next generation science standards.

Highlights included:
Exploring worm habitats and their role in healthy ecosystems.
Learning practical techniques for setting up outdoor garden beds.
Engage in garden based science lessons and activities.
Network with other Expanded Learning staff.

We're excited to bring these insights back to our after school program and continue cultivating curiosity and growth in the garden!

We sent out festive Christmas-themed coloring pages to all our after-school program sites, and these are the very first masterpieces submitted for display on our office wall!
